President Donald Trump said Thursday that Republicans are winning the affordability debate, arguing that his tax cuts, regulatory rollbacks, and falling prices have delivered major relief to American families after years of inflation under former President Joe Biden.
"If you add the largest Tax and Regulation Cuts in U.S. History, $5000 to $10,000 per family, coupled with falling prices across the board from the Sleepy Joe Biden years, 'TRUMP' & THE REPUBLICANS WIN THE AFFORDABILITY WARS by record numbers!" Trump wrote on Truth Social.
The post comes as Trump and Republicans increasingly make affordability a central issue heading into the midterms, pointing to tax relief, deregulation, energy policy, and efforts to lower household costs as evidence their agenda is working.
Trump has repeatedly blamed Biden-era spending, energy restrictions, and regulations for the inflation spike that increased costs for American families on groceries, gas, and housing.
The administration and GOP allies have touted the Working Families Tax Cuts Act, signed into law in 2025, which included provisions affecting individual taxpayers, workers, seniors, tips, overtime, and family savings accounts.
