Former White House chief of staff Mark Meadows told Newsmax that President Donald Trump’s scheduled Thursday evening remarks to the nation will in part focus on "election integrity."
Meadows told Ed Henry The Big Take on Wednesday that "The president gave a little bit of a tease to the press in the Oval Office as it relates to this primetime address tomorrow night. It'll be interesting just to see how this all comes together."
Meadows said he was not at liberty to reveal much more, other than to say Trump has "kind of given the head nod that it's going to be election integrity. And rumor has it that it will be relating to some of the Georgia election results back in 2020."
Trump is expected to announce that newly declassified intelligence reports reveal a foreign nation's plans to interfere in the 2020 presidential election.
CIA Director John Ratcliffe, Acting Director of National Intelligence Bill Pulte, FBI Director Kash Patel, and Homeland Security Secretary Markwayne Mullin will reportedly join Trump for his remarks.
Reports surfacing late Tuesday hint that some of the information to be released will point to China’s involvement in attempting to interfere with U.S. elections.
There is also an indication that Trump may spend some time addressing the U.S.-Israeli military strikes against Iran.
Meadows said Iran is about to learn it has gone too far in testing the President’s resolve.
"They need to understand," said Meadows, "that he's given them as much of a leash as they possibly can have.
And now it's time to pay the price. And he will use the entire strength and might of the military to do that."
Meadows mentioned how Trump likes to have well-known songs played at his events, especially Lee Greenwood’s "God Bless the U.S.A."
Meadows said Americans may soon hear a new one — Alice Cooper's "No More Mr. Nice Guy."
Meadows said it would be fitting since Iran has done little to win the president’s trust.
"When the president feels like he's giving you his best deal," said Meadows, "and you've shirked that, I would not want to be in the Iranians' position."
