Mark Levin Slams JD Vance Over Israel Criticism

Mark Levin blasted JD Vance on social media shortly after the vice president suggested some Israeli officials were unfairly attacking President Donald Trump over a reported regional peace deal, accusing critics of portraying Iran as "reasonable and moderate" while smearing Israel.

"I think it's terrific that people who will likely seek the GOP nomination for president are revealing themselves," Levin wrote in a post on X.

"Amazing how Iran is being talked about as increasingly reasonable and moderate as Israel is being smeared left and Woke Right."

Levin's remarks came after Vance responded to questions Thursday about reports that Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu was unhappy with elements of the U.S.-Iran agreement related to Lebanon.

Speaking at a press conference, Vance downplayed an Axios report that Netanyahu was fuming over the deal, saying it was "not reflective of the conversations that I've had with him."

He declined to speculate on scenarios that could jeopardize the agreement, saying Trump expects Israel and Arab partners to work together to see the deal through.

However, Vance sharply criticized members of Netanyahu's cabinet who have publicly attacked the agreement and "very personally attacked the president of the United States" in some cases.

"Donald J. Trump is the only head of state in the entire world who is sympathetic to the nation of Israel at this moment in time," he said.

"If I was in the cabinet of the Israeli government, I might not be attacking the only powerful ally that I have anywhere left in the entire world."

Vance also emphasized the extent of U.S. military support for Israel, arguing that much of the defensive capability protecting the country has been funded by American taxpayers.

"The problem for Israel is not Donald J. Trump," he said.

"Anybody in Israel who thinks their biggest problem is the president of the United States needs to wake up and smell the reality of the situation that country is in."

The comments quickly drew backlash from some pro-Israel voices, including Levin, who suggested Vance's framing unfairly criticized Israel while minimizing the threat posed by Iran.
