Rep. Randy Fine, R-Fla., warned Thursday that the Democratic Socialists of America has become an "existential threat" to the United States, arguing the far-left movement is seeking to undermine the country and has gained increasing influence within the Democratic Party.

Appearing on Newsmax's "Wake Up America Early," Fine said Americans should take the group's agenda seriously because, in his view, its members are motivated by hostility toward the nation rather than a desire to improve it.

"These are people who do not love America, but they hate America," Fine said. "They don't seek to make us even better than we've ever been; they seek to destroy us. And when you understand the truth, it makes a whole lot more sense."

He argued the rise of New York City Mayor Zohran Mamdani and Rep. Ilhan Omar, D-Minn., reflects decades of failed immigration policies that allowed people into the country who do not share American values.

"It happens when over the last few decades, you allow millions and millions and millions of people like Zohran Mamdani and Ilhan Omar into this country, people who have not come to add to our value, who don't share our values, but seek our destruction," Fine said.

The Florida Republican said Congress and the Trump administration must continue securing the border, deport illegal immigrants and pursue denaturalization in cases involving alleged immigration fraud.

"We've got real existential crises ahead," Fine said. "It's why we've got to make sure the border stays sealed. It's why we've got to deport every single illegal immigrant. And it's why we have to denaturalize and deport fraudsters like Mamdani and Omar, who lied to come here."

"If we don't do these things, this will continue to take root," he added. "And it is an existential threat to the future of our country."

Fine also blasted what he called the left's continued embrace of communist ideology despite its historical track record.

"When you challenge them on it and you point out that no system has ever killed more people in the history of the world, no political system has killed more people than communism, their answer is, 'Well, we haven't ever tried real communism,'" he said. "As though it wasn't done in the Soviet Union or China or 10 other places around the world or Cuba right now."

Pointing across the aisle, the congressman said Democrats failed to stop what he described as the radicalization of their party until it was too late.

"They weren't this bad 10 or 20 years ago," Fine said. "But they said, 'This is the fringe. Let's ignore it. Let's not take it seriously.’ And now [the DSA has] taken over. That's why it's implicit on us in the Republican Party to not let wackos take over our side."
