President Donald Trump on Thursday praised the newly renamed President Donald J. Trump International Airport in Palm Beach, Florida, predicting it will become "one of the Greatest and Most Spectacular Airports anywhere in the World."
In a post on Truth Social, Trump celebrated the airport's new name and highlighted its location and planned improvements.
"A very big day in Palm Beach, Florida, where it was my Great Honor to have the Palm Beach International Airport be renamed, by a spectacular vote, The President Donald J. Trump International Airport," Trump wrote.
The president said the airport is well positioned for future growth and touted renovation plans.
"The Area is HOT, the Location is GREAT, and the Renovation will be SPECTACULAR," Trump wrote. "Thank you to all in Palm Beach for your Vote and your Confidence."
Trump said the airport will soon rank among the world's best, calling it "one of the Greatest and Most Spectacular Airports anywhere in the World."
The airport serves Palm Beach County, home to Trump's Mar-a-Lago estate, and is one of South Florida's busiest commercial airports. It handles millions of passengers annually and serves as a gateway to the region.
Trump has long maintained close ties to Palm Beach, where Mar-a-Lago has served as a private residence and a venue for political events. Since returning to the White House, he has continued to spend time at the property while visiting Florida.
Since he took office for a second White House term last year, Trump's name has been applied to a planned class of Navy warships, a visa program for wealthy foreigners, a government-run prescription drug website, and federal savings accounts for children.
He has also pursued an ambitious remaking of Washington. While the Trump name was added to the U.S. Institute of Peace building, courts have rejected an attempt to affix it to the John F. Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts.
Republican Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis signed legislation in March to rename the airport after Trump.
