President Donald Trump slammed television commentators Stephen A. Smith and Joe Scarborough on social media Wednesday, calling one "an arrogant fool" and the other "a laughing stock."

In a pair of Truth Social posts, Trump escalated his public feud with the ESPN personality while also taking aim at the MSNBC host, accusing both men of lacking credibility and relevance.

"Stephen A. Smith is an arrogant fool, a low IQ individual," Trump wrote. "In other words, he's 'dumb as a rock,' and totally unqualified to ever think of running for high political office."

Trump added that Smith would be "annihilated" in a political debate and suggested even former President Joe Biden's widely criticized 2024 debate performance would compare favorably to anything Smith could offer.

The comments came after Smith floated the possibility of a 2028 presidential run and criticized Trump for attending Game 3 of the NBA Finals at Madison Square Garden.

On ESPN's "First Take," Smith called Trump's appearance "selfish" and "narcissistic," arguing the president's attendance created security complications for fans.

Trump responded after the game by questioning Smith's intelligence and qualifications for public office.

Smith fired back Wednesday, joking that Trump appeared asleep during the game and comparing him to the president's frequent "Sleepy Joe" attacks against Biden.

The president also unloaded on MSNBC's Joe Scarborough, whose "Morning Joe" program has been a frequent Trump target.

"Joe Scarborough's ever shrinking, low rated show, one of the most inaccurate detailers of truthful facts on television, is being crushed in the ratings," Trump wrote.

He accused Scarborough of suffering from "Trump Derangement Syndrome," or TDS, and claimed the host had become "a laughing stock among those who know what is going on in the 'Wonderful World of Television.'"

Trump further argued that Scarborough's criticism of him has alienated viewers and contributed to declining ratings for the longtime morning program.

The broadside followed a discussion on "Morning Joe" of a forthcoming book on Trump's presidency by New York Times journalists Maggie Haberman and Jonathan Swan.

According to reports, the panel highlighted the authors' credentials and discussed excerpts involving Trump and the Jeffrey Epstein controversy.

Trump has long maintained that much of the mainstream media is driven by hostility toward him rather than objective reporting.

His supporters frequently point to what they view as years of inaccurate coverage from major television networks and political commentators.
