Trump: Ships Moving Through Hormuz

Ships carrying oil are "starting to move" out of the Strait of Hormuz, President Donald Trump wrote Monday on Truth Social.

"Ships are starting to move, many loaded up with oil, out of the Strait of Hormuz," the president wrote. "They are going along the Southern 'Highway,' which is totally safe, secure, and pristine. There are other areas of travel, also."

Tracking platforms indicated, however, that shipping through the Strait of Hormuz remained virtually at a standstill on Monday, The Guardian reported.

The British newspaper explained that many shippers say the arrangement to cross the waterway remains unclear and consider it too risky for ships to commence transit again.

The Guardian added that shipping companies and insurers will feel like the strait is safer for passage after the framework peace deal with Iran is signed and the remaining mines are cleared.
