The Madison Square Garden wedding between Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce will not come cheap.
Hosting an event at the Garden, dubbed "The World's Most Famous Arena," costs between $600,000 and $800,000, industry insiders told the New York Times.
Booking the Garden for two days would probably cost Swift and Kelce between $1.2 million and $1.6 million.
President Donald Trump's rally at the Garden in 2024 cost $649,687, according to campaign filings.
But Swift and Kelce would not just be paying to rent out the venue. The Garden would probably require insurance, which could cost a minimum of $10,000.
Additional costs for lighting, sound, catering, flowers, decorations and labor could total $10 million to $12 million, Jessica Stewart, the vice president of marketing and sales at EMRG Media, told the Times.
Stewart said audio and visual production, if there is a show, could cost another $1 million.
"It's literally what we call a 'venue takeover,'" Stewart said.
Swift and Kelce will also spend money on security and required New York City permit fees after the city classified the wedding as an "extra-large event," the Times reported.
The permit will likely cost at least $132,000, plus additional costs to extend it through Saturday, when crews will remove a tent and other equipment.
Taxpayers are not immune from the costs associated with Swift and Kelce's wedding. Hundreds of police officers will patrol outside Madison Square Garden, with overtime costs estimated at $1 million.
Former Police Chief Kenneth Corey told the Times he would deploy 400 officers to monitor fans who might try to breach barricades, at a cost of at least $360,000 per day.
Medical personnel from the city's Emergency Medical Services unit also will be deployed in case attendees become overheated or dehydrated, at an estimated cost of another $500,000, the Times estimated.
