Sean "Diddy" Combs was reportedly placed in solitary confinement after a fight with another inmate at the federal prison where he's serving his sentence in New Jersey, according to TMZ. 

The altercation occurred this week at the Federal Correctional Institution at Fort Dix.

A source familiar with the confrontation said it began after another inmate made a remark to Combs. Prison staff intervened and separated them. 

It was not immediately clear Friday whether Combs remained in solitary confinement or whether the dispute would affect his projected release date.

Federal prison officials declined to comment on the reported altercation or Combs' housing status, citing privacy and security policies.

"We are not at liberty to disclose or provide internal information pertaining to any inmate in our custody. Such information would not be available for the public domain," an FCI Fort Dix representative told TMZ. 

Combs, 56, is serving a 50-month federal prison sentence at FCI Fort Dix after being convicted in 2025 on two counts of transportation to engage in prostitution.

He was acquitted of more serious charges, including racketeering conspiracy and sex trafficking, after a closely watched federal trial. 

His projected release date is Feb. 23, 2028.

Combs was transferred to Fort Dix after initially being held at the Metropolitan Detention Center in Brooklyn, New York, following his arrest in 2024.

The Federal Bureau of Prisons does not publicly disclose disciplinary actions or conditions of confinement involving individual inmates.

Combs' legal team has continued to challenge his convictions on appeal while he serves his sentence. No public statement had been issued by his attorneys Friday regarding the reported fight.
