WARSAW, Poland — Newsmax Polska officially began live broadcasting Saturday, marking a major milestone for Newsmax Media as the company's first licensed television station in Poland and the European Union while expanding its growing international news network into one of Central Europe's largest media markets.
Launching under the slogan "Real News for Real People," the new channel combines Polish-produced news programming in local language with selected Newsmax content from the United States, offering viewers an alternative source of news and analysis.
The launch follows months of preparation after Newsmax Polska first entered the Polish market earlier this year with a digital news platform before expanding into a full television operation based in Warsaw.
The newsroom is led by Wojciech Surmacz, the former president of the Polish Press Agency (PAP), alongside a team of Polish journalists, producers and editors.
The project was developed with significant support from Telekom Srbija, one of Southeast Europe's largest telecommunications and media companies, which has partnered with Newsmax on its expansion throughout the Balkans and now into the European Union.
"This is a historic day for Newsmax," said Christopher Ruddy, founder and CEO of Newsmax Media. "Newsmax Polska represents our first licensed television station in the European Union and reflects our commitment and Telekom Srbija’s to provide independent journalism and open debate to audiences around the world."
Ruddy also praised the partnership behind the new venture.
"This important milestone would not have been possible without the tremendous support of Telekom Srbija and the outstanding work of our Polish and Balkan teams," he said. "We believe there is strong demand for fact-based journalism that puts viewers first."
Aleksandar Krstić, CEO of Newsmax Balkans, said the launch represents the next phase of Newsmax's European growth.
"'Real News for Real People' is more than a slogan—it is the mission of Newsmax Polska," Krstić said. "We are proud to bring this channel to Polish viewers and grateful to Telekom Srbija and Newsmax Media for their partnership in creating Newsmax's first licensed television station in the European Union. We believe Polish audiences are looking for credible journalism, professional reporting and diverse viewpoints."
The channel began broadcasting through Polsat and Emitel, and initially reaches approximately 5 million subscribers.
According to the company, Newsmax Polska has already secured carriage agreements covering approximately 7.6 million subscribers, with additional cable and television operators expected to complete the rollout over the coming week, bringing the channel to all confirmed distribution platforms.
Beyond Polsat and Emitel, Newsmax Polska has distribution agreements with major Polish television providers including Orange Polska, Netia, Play, Vectra, Multimedia Polska, TOYA, INEA, and numerous regional cable operators, giving the network broad national coverage.
The Polish launch follows the success of Newsmax Balkans and represents another step in Newsmax's broader international strategy.
Company officials say Poland serves as the foundation for continued European expansion as Newsmax seeks to extend its reach beyond the United States while maintaining its focus on independent journalism and diverse perspectives.
