Two major broadcast television networks have announced they will not air President Donald Trump's primetime speech on election integrity.
NBC and ABC have said they will not air the 9 p.m. address, while CBS has yet to reveal its plans. CNN has also declined to televise the address live.
Trump's speech will air live on Newsmax platforms.
A spokesperson for ABC News said the network will run Trump's speech on its ABC News Live streaming platform and ABC News Radio — not its broadcast channel.
ABC told The New York Times it would air a special report "should significant developments occur."
NBC News plans to carry the president's remarks on its free streaming service, NBC News Now, but will not carry the address on its main broadcast channel, according to a person familiar with the matter.
NBC said it will air a report after Trump's remarks.
The White House is considering using the speech to disclose sensitive intelligence regarding whether China had the intent or capability to interfere in the 2020 U.S. election, which Trump has claimed without evidence was stolen from him.
In previewing the remarks, press secretary Karoline Leavitt said networks should televise the speech live, adding that "it is very possible" the president will address the war in Iran and the U.S. economy.
Trump has teased he has "really, really big news" to share.
Some Democrats, including Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez, D-N.Y., have urged networks not to broadcast the remarks, arguing that Trump is likely to repeat his unproven claims.
On Wednesday, Federal Communications Commission Chair Brendan Carr said in an interview with NewsNation that he thought the broadcast networks should air Trump's remarks.
"This is something that the American people have every right to be able to get over the airwaves," Carr said.
Some TV networks previously declined to air primetime speeches from Presidents Barack Obama and Joe Biden.
