The reelection campaign for Sen. Jon Ossoff, D-Ga., on Wednesday launched a new television advertisement seeking to portray Republican Senate nominee Mike Collins as a wealthy political insider who has sided with President Donald Trump and corporate interests over working-class voters.

The ad came a day after Collins defeated former college football coach Derek Dooley in a Senate primary runoff, securing the Republican nomination to challenge Ossoff in one of the nation's most closely watched Senate races this fall.

The 60-second spot targets Collins' business and political background, arguing that the trucking company owner inherited wealth and opportunity from his father, former Rep. Mac Collins.

"His rich daddy, a former congressman and career politician himself, handed Mike the keys to a company with dozens of employees, making multi-millionaire Mike richer, while real truckers did the actual work," the narrator says. "Maybe that's why Trump likes him so much."

The ad also ties Collins closely to Trump, highlighting Collins' support for the president's agenda and accusing him of backing policies that increased costs for Georgia families while benefiting wealthy Americans and large corporations.

Among other claims, the ad criticizes Collins' votes on healthcare and tax legislation, his support for Trump's tariff policies and his handling of matters related to files connected to convicted sex offender Jeffrey Epstein.

In Congress, the narrator in the ad says, Collins has "looked out for the richest 1% and big corporations instead of ordinary hardworking Georgians, like when he voted to double health insurance premiums for more than a million Georgians in order to give the wealthiest Americans and corporations another tax break.

"Or when he voted against releasing the Epstein files, covering for Trump and other powerful men. He even admitted Trump was in the files."

The ad also raises allegations involving Collins' congressional office, claiming taxpayer funds were improperly directed to individuals connected to his chief of staff.

Collins, who owns a trucking company and was elected to the House in 2022, has built a loyal following among conservatives through his close alliance with Trump and his outspoken support for the president's policies.

The Senate race is expected to be among the most competitive Senate contests in the country this year as Republicans seek to unseat Ossoff, one of the Senate's most vulnerable Democratic incumbents.

The contest is likely to draw tens of millions of dollars in campaign spending and national attention as both parties battle for control of the chamber.
