EU Leaders Agree to Renew Russia Sanctions for 1 Year

European Union leaders agreed on Thursday to renew sanctions against Russia ​over its war against Ukraine ⁠for another 12 ​months, a spokesperson ⁠for the chair of the meeting said.

Thursday's ‌decision at ​a summit in ‌Brussels ‌marked the first time such sanctions — which target ⁠certain ‌sectors ⁠of the Russian economy — ⁠have ⁠been renewed for ‌a year. They had previously been rolled ‌over ​every ‌six months.
