President Donald Trump said Monday Walmart will sharply reduce prices on a range of products, after what he described as a request from his administration to help celebrate America's 250th birthday.

Notably, Trump said, Walmart will lower the price of a pound of ground beef by nearly 15%,

In a Truth Social post Monday, Trump called Walmart "one of the biggest, best, and smartest retailers in America."

Trump also praised the nation’s biggest retailer as "truly patriotic.”

The president said the discounts would benefit millions of Americans, and he urged other retailers to follow Walmart's lead.

“Oil Prices are plummeting FAST, and Gas Prices at the pump are dropping too — just like egg and Prescription Drug prices, which I am bringing down by historic levels.”

Trump contrasted the move with the “total disaster” of the Biden years, saying his team is lowering prices that "Joe Biden incompetently raised" — during what he called "the worst inflation crisis in history."

He also criticized Biden's handling of the southern border and the U.S. withdrawal from Afghanistan, calling them among the former administration's major failures.

Walmart has not publicly announced the price reductions or confirmed Trump's statements.
