A Washington, D.C., man arrested near the Lincoln Memorial Reflecting Pool says he plans to fight a federal obscenity charge after allegedly shouting at Oklahoma state troopers deployed to the nation's capital amid heightened security around the recently renovated landmark.

Christian Miles, a freelance video editor and former Navy submariner, was arrested Monday by U.S. Park Police after an encounter with the troopers assisting local law enforcement during America's 250th anniversary celebrations, according to the Washington Examiner.

Miles was charged under a federal regulation prohibiting obscene or threatening behavior that could provoke a disturbance. He denied wrongdoing and, according to multiple reports, said he intends to contest the charge.

The arrest comes as President Donald Trump has repeatedly pointed to vandalism at the $14 million Reflecting Pool renovation project, saying Tuesday that six people have been arrested in connection with damage to the landmark. Officials have released few details about the cases.

Video captured by a TMZ DC reporter shows two officers escorting Miles away from the Reflecting Pool following the confrontation.

"I was yelling at the Oklahoma state troopers," Miles said, describing the reason for his arrest. "I was yelling at them."

Miles said he was yelling at the Oklahoma officers "because they're here."

In a video posted to his YouTube channel, Miles questions the troopers about why they are in Washington before telling them to "get the f*** out of my city" and to "go back to Tulsa, b****" shortly before his arrest.

Law enforcement from multiple agencies has maintained an increased presence around the Reflecting Pool in recent days as authorities respond to concerns over repeated damage to the site.

Trump has blamed vandals for a series of problems affecting the renovation project, including peeling liner material, algae blooms, a dead duckling and what he has described as a large gash in the pool's newly installed surface.
