Readers know my preoccupation with fertility rates and population decline. If, as conservatives, our political and social project is an appreciation for an inheritance, it seems to me that our chief concern should be posterity. A society without a posterity in view will almost necessarily not conserve what is good. I’m always looking for signs of people becoming aware of this in the popular culture. There was one in last night’s Mets game.
