A new, credible allegation of sexual abuse has surfaced against Maine Democratic Senate nominee Graham Platner, causing numerous left-wing figures and groups to rescind their endorsements. Charlie, on today’s Editors episode, says he is “completely astonished at how many have sacrificed their integrity and their reputations for him” in the first place.
“Why? Why him?” says Charlie. “He’s not impressive. He’s not somebody who organically led or fostered a movement.”
“Why do the Pod Save America bros feel the need to say he’s a good man?” asks Charlie. “Why did it take a woman sitting right in front of Jake Tapper and being asked, ‘Was this a rape?’ and saying, ‘Yes’” before Democrats would acknowledge any error?
“I’m just baffled.”
