A recent poll revealed only 29 percent of Democrats are “extremely/very proud to be an American,” compared to 90 percent of Republicans, leading up to our nation’s 250th anniversary. The poll went viral, naturally, after two CNN anchors seemed flabbergasted comparing this year’s results to the same polling conducted 25 years ago, when 89 percent of Democrats reported feeling pride in their citizenship.
But if you spend two minutes scrolling on X, this level of political divisiveness shouldn’t shock you.
