A car 'containing explosives' has been involved in a crash in a neighbourhood in Amsterdam following a police chase.

The incident happened this afternoon following a pursuit after an ATM ram-raid in Germany, according to local reports. The police, the military and other emergency services are on scene on Nierkerkestraat.


The street is cordoned off and homes on a hundred-metre radius have been evacuated as possible explosives were found in the crashed vehicle. The car's occupants fled the scene and they remain at large.
