According to Karmelo Anthony’s parents, no one wins when it comes to the verdict on their son. And this is true. A man’s life was taken far too early, and that is something the victim’s family will have to live with forever. No amount of punishment, or in this case, a softball sentence, will bring justice for their son’s actions. And Anthony losing his trial is nothing more than a personal problem.

If they are upset their son’s actions cost him 35 years of his life, just imagine how they would feel if someone stabbed their son in the heart. Something tells me they would be demanding much more than what their kid got.

Per CBS:

During an interview for “CBS Mornings,” Anthony’s mother, Kala Hayes, said her son “didn’t mean to hurt anyone” and “was defending himself.”

His actions are legally defined as murder. No one is buying that.

When asked what he would tell Metcalf’s family, Anthony’s father, Andrew Anthony, said, “It’s unfortunate, it’s where nobody wins.”

“We’ve all been hurt by this,” he said. “Everybody, everyone.”

The only people who are hurt by this are the victim and his family. All these people care about is themselves and their feelings. It truly is despicable.

On Wednesday, Anthony’s legal team filed a notice of appeal. Dallas-based appellate attorney David Coale told CBS News Texas that an appeal would focus on whether the trial was handled correctly, including how the jury was selected and whether Black jurors were improperly removed from the case.

“What stuck out to me, No. 1, was the all-White jury,” Andrew Anthony said. The family also alleged that witnesses lied on the stand and gave inconsistent statements.

The problem with this statement is that it is a lie. Three jurors were racial minorities, including Indian and Asian. So, when people claim this was an “all-White” jury, they are either naive and are too stupid to spout their opinion, or they are lying. Draw your own conclusions.

No one is buying sympathy cards from these people. Their son murdered an innocent young man, and that is the only reality they should be concerned about. This is not about them, or their son, or their feelings. They are not the victims. What don't they understand? It truly is a disgrace.
