JD Vance's damning Epstein Tweet comes back to haunt him as MAGA rages

JD Vance has been brutally roasted over a social media post he made about sex offender Jeffrey Epstein, as MAGA rages at the Trump administration for breaking a key election promise.
The US Department of Justice and FBI revealed on Monday that they had concluded Epstein did not have a so-called "client list" implicating high-profile associates, and that he took his own life in prison - walking back on conspiracy theories the Trump administration had helped to promote.

But documents released by Attorney General Pam Bondi in February were largely made up of records that had been circulating in the public domain for years, leaving MAGA supporters frustrated at the administration for failing to deliver any new revelations. It came as a Trump family member revealed the latest worrying symptom in the president's 'cognitive decline'.

This contrasted earlier statements from Attorney General Pam Bondi, who had vowed to release a list of Epstein's clients, claiming, "It's sitting on my desk right now to review."
In the wake of the decision, a post JD Vance made on X back in 2021 has reemerged. Referring to Epstein, the future Vice President wrote: "Remember when we learned that our wealthiest and most powerful people were connected to a guy who ran a literal child sex trafficking ring? And then that guy died mysteriously in a jail? And now we just don't talk about it."

"Thank you, JD, for bringing this to our attention… if only we had our guys in power, to reveal the list of clients, that were trafficked to," one person wrote.
A second commented: "If only we had someone in office today that could literally order the FBI to uncover & release the 'non-existent Epstein client list' they already admitted to having, FOUR years ago..." A third noted: "If only we had elected the men who promised to reveal the Epstein files..."

Others said that Vance's inability to release more Epstein files during his time in office will harm his political career as they dubbed the recent decision a "huge embarrassment for the MAGA movement".
"There goes your chance as president," one noted. A second wrote: "You’re losing credibility so quickly, you had an opportunity to do better and you guys are failing…" Another noted: "The silence is deafening Mr Vance."
When questioned about the client list Bondi claimed she had, White House Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt doubled down on the Trump administration's new claims that it doesn't exist.

"What happened to the Epstein client list that the Attorney General said she had on her desk?," Fox News correspondent Peter Doocy asked. Karoline replied, "Well, I think if you go back and look at what the Attorney General said in that interview, which was on your network, on Fox News."
Peter proceeded to share Bondi's words, "The DOJ said they may be releasing the list of Jeffrey Epstein's clients, will that really happen? And she said it's sitting on my desk right now to review, Right?"
Leavitt responded: "Yes she was saying the entirety of all of the paperwork in relation to Jeffrey Epstein's crimes, that's what the Attorney General was referring to and I'll let her speak for that, but again, when it comes to the FBI and the Department of Justice, they are more than committed to ensuring that bad people are put behind bars."

Epstein was arrested in July 2019 on charges of sex trafficking and conspiracy, crimes he was said to have committed in with his accomplice, Ghislaine Maxwell. In August, he was found lifeless in his cell and his cause of death was determined to be suicide.
But the circumstances of his death quickly sparked a flurry of conspiracy theories. The DOJ and FBI's claims that a client list doesn't exist comes just a month after Elon Musk accused the president of being on it.
During their public feud after the tech billionaires departure from the White House, Musk wrote in a now-deleted X post: “Time to drop the really big bomb @realDonaldTrump is in the Epstein files. That is the real reason they have not been made public. Have a nice day, DJT!”
