President Trump will visit Walter Reed Medical Center for what the White House says is a “routine yearly check-up.” People, however, are not buying that explanation, coining their own theories about the unusual visit to the army medical center.

The White House previously announced the visit earlier this week, adding that the 79-year-old president will also be addressing troops from the hospital.

“I’ve been told that, in essence, there are two things that physicians can’t do at the White House medical unit: MRIs and surgeries. Virtually anything else can be done there if you have to or want to,” George Conway, president of the Society for the Rule of Law, posted on X.

In the case of an emergency or a complex procedure, The White House Medical Unit handles routine care and immediate stabilization before transporting patients to hospitals like Walter Reed for more complicated services, making the president’s visit unusual. The medical unit does provide emergency medical and trauma care at the White House complex.

Users on social media were quick to chime on to the theory, providing their own perspectives on the visit.

“Brain MRI after worsening [transient ischemic attack] episodes? The mouth has been looking droopy when he’s not paying attention, falling asleep, etc.,” one person noted on X.
