Janeese Lewis-George will become D.C.’s first communist mayor, under the more euphemistically-named Democrat(ic) Socialists of America (DSA). Democrats allow these radicals to run under their banner, and they hate Democrats. They simply use them.

Amy Mek of the RAIR Foundation provided a good summary:

“This isn’t some recent conversion. She’s been deep in the radical left for years.

“She’s a confirmed DSA member who received their endorsement for her 2020 Council race. She beat an incumbent after being attacked for wanting to cut police in Ward 4. She won anyway.

“Black Lives Matter DC and Sanctuary DMV gave her their first-ever political endorsements, praising her views on policing and public safety. She’s also backed by the Working Families Party, Unite Here, SEIU, and the Washington Teachers Union. They are all far-far-left.

“Her record includes:

• Co-sponsoring a 2023 resolution to remove Cuba from the State Sponsors of Terrorism list and lift the U.S. embargo – cheered by CODEPINK, the DSA International Committee, and the D.C. Metro Coalition in Solidarity with the Cuban Revolution.
• Endorsing the Working Families Party’s People’s Charter.
• Speaking at Netroots Nation on DC statehood as “racial justice.”
• Standing with the “Progressive City & County Champions” alongside far-left figures like Dean Preston.

“This is the same Janeese Lewis-George who supports ending MPD cooperation with ICE, backs expansive rent controls and “social housing,” and has aligned with the anti-Jewish wing of the left (refusing events that “promote Zionism,” early ceasefire calls, and staff ties to BDS-style content).

“America, this isn’t “progress.”

“This is the red-green axis taking over the capital city. A DSA-backed socialist with a history of pro-Cuba radicalism, anti-police rhetoric, sanctuary policies, and open hostility to Israel now has a real shot at running D.C, Mek said. No mayor in D.C. history has ever been this far left. Not one. If she wins the general, the nation’s capital will have its first democratic socialist mayor- and the consequences will ripple far beyond local politics. This is how it starts. Don’t say you weren’t warned.”

Janese is a communist. The DSA is so radical that the original members were kicked out of the Socialist Party, and they formed the DSA abomination. In some ways, they are worse than the communist party.

Democrats could sideline them, but they’d rather win. They hate America.
