Report: Obamas Cancel Cheryl Hines Over Trump Ties

Women have it hard in Hollywood.

That’s not woke. It’s the truth.

Starlets are expected to stay forever young, or at least look that way, or see their acting prospects dim. Amy Schumer’s “Last F***able Day” sketch hit home because it had a kernel of truth to it.

It explains why the producers behind “Bill & Ted Face the Musicditched the franchise’s original actresses for newer, younger stars. “Top Gun: Maverick” brought back original star Val Kilmer even though he had lost most of his voice from throat cancer, but not co-star Kelly McGillis.

This means Emmy-nominee Cheryl Hines, 59, may struggle to land work as she enters her 60s. The “Curb Your Enthusiasm” alum’s schedule freed up following that show’s 2024 finale.

Now, a new report suggests another roadblock stands in Hines’ way.

Politics.

“Curb” creator and star Larry David is teaming with President Barack Obama and wife Michelle Obama for a new sketch series tied to American history. The untitled show, set to bow during America’s 250th birthday next year on HBO Max, will likely bring several “Curb” players into the fold.

Hines appears to be an exception, according to The Daily Mail.

But insiders tell Daily Mail that Hines’s marriage to Trump’s Secretary of Health and Human Services Robert F. Kennedy Jr. is all but certain to rule her out.

According to sources, Barack and Michelle Obama, whose production company Higher Ground is producing the show, are ‘vehemently opposed’ to Hines having any part in the project due to her political alliances.

Hines is married to Secretary of Health and Human Services Robert F. Kennedy, Jr. That union, along with President Donald Trump’s 2024 electoral victory, put a target on her back in Hollywood.

It didn’t matter that she considered herself a Democrat, or that she bears no responsibility over what President Trump or her husband does as part of the current administration.

The Hollywood Reporter admitted last year that Hollywood insiders may punish her for that connection.

But despite the show of unity with her husband, Kennedy’s decision to align himself so closely with Trump will make for, at best, some awkward dinner table conversations at home; at worst, it may result in a full-scale shunning of Hines by the Hollywood establishment.

Hines currently has no current or future projects on her IMDB.com page save a horror short she helped produce. That’s a far cry from the rest of her career. She began working in Hollywood in the mid-1990s and has found steady gigs ever since.

Until now.

That could be by choice. Or, the “full-scale shunning” has begun. Even THR might not have predicted a former president might have led the way.

The Legacy Media have mostly ignored the story so far. That’s not shocking. It paints the Obamas as well as David in a poor light.

Narrative over news. Always.
