Media Still Doesn't Understand That Nobody Trusts It

How out of touch is the media? This out of touch.

The head of the White House Correspondents Association (WHCA) says the public can no longer trust pool reports now that the reporters included in the small group will be controlled by President Trump’s team.

No longer trust?

Americans continue to register record-low trust in the mass media, with 31% expressing a “great deal” or “fair amount” of confidence in the media to report the news “fully, accurately and fairly,” similar to last year’s 32%.

And those are the better numbers. People trust the Trump administration more than they trust the media.

A new YouGov survey finds that Americans’ trust in the media to state the facts fully, accurately, and fairly is low: Only 29% say they have a fair amount or a great deal of trust. More (44%) have at least a fair amount of trust in Donald Trump’s administration to state facts fully, accurately and fairly.

That’s because most Republicans trust Trump and not even Democrats have that much trust left in the media.

“For years the WHCA had created a format for standards, length, accuracy for the American people that they could trust that those standards created by the folks that actually do the work were understood by everyone and you could trust the reports that were coming out of that,” Eugene Daniels, president of the WHCA said during an appearance on MSNBC.

An appearance on MSNBC. Enough said.

The public shouldn’t trust media pool reports because the public can’t and shouldn’t trust the media. The media has yet to grasp the fundamental fact that the public, with complete justice, distrusts it.
