After her disastrous 2024 loss, her recent book blaming everyone but herself for the loss, nobody wants another Kamala presidential campaign. Primary polls have been all over the place, while past polls pegged her at third and fourth, some polls now show her climbing to first place.
This is making stomachs tighten in the Dem establishment which has zero confidence in her to manage a campaign, run or win. So Kamala is turning to Mamdani and the DSA crowd for support.
Kamala Harris privately called New York City Mayor Zohran Mamdani last week and has been holding lengthy, closed-door meetings with other prominent progressives — including pro-Palestinian activists.
Harris, who occasionally has texted with Mamdani in the past few months, called him two days after the mayor’s handpicked candidates swept three congressional races in New York City, ousting a pair of incumbents.
In April, Harris met with Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (D-N.Y.) in Chicago on the sidelines of the “Power Rising” conference, a summit for Black women empowerment.
This makes perfect sense because Kamala has no real politics, but does have a radical leftist background courtesy of her parents, got the ball rolling on dumping Israel during the Biden administration, and her only reason for expressing some support for Israel were Jewish donors.
The Dems are now rapidly jettisoning Israel and most Jews, and the DSA has shown that their organizing and turnout operations can make a difference. Now a presidential primary won’t be the low-turnout dumpster fire that allowed DSA candidates to win in New York City, but it’s a bet that costs her very little except presumably the support of Jewish donors, but anyone who donated to her in 2024 would have to be an idiot to give to her again, while the DSA will back actual Hamas supporters, Communists and Nazis, so Kamala figures she’s probably got a shot.
There is the minor problem that the DSA tends to run Marxist fanatics while Kamala can’t convince anyone that she believes in anything. But if socialists could back Tom Steyer in California, a billionaire, or Graham Platner, a rich kid with a Nazi tattoo in Maine, they’ll back anyone to gain power.
Maybe even her.
