St. Charles man accused of threatening Gov. Kehoe and his family

ST. CHARLES, Mo. (First Alert 4) - A St. Charles, Mo. man is facing charges, accused of making threats on social media against Missouri Gov. Mike Kehoe and his family.

Daniel Mertz, 42, is charged with first-degree stalking and first-degree harassment.

Police allege that between December 1 and December 18, Mertz made Facebook posts threatening Kehoe and his family.

Authorities say they found and arrested Mertz on December 19 in Daytona Beach, Florida. Police say he had a loaded gun when he was arrested.

He is being held in the Volusia County, Florida jail and is awaiting extradition back to Missouri
