Birthday gift to Donald Trump – see deluded POTUS as Jesus, Mona Lisa and Elvis
The bigliest US president in history is turning 80 on Sunday! Is now a good time to remember how Donald Trump banged on about Joe Biden’s age during his latest election campaign? Absolutely not.
Instead, let’s take a look at the POTUS exactly as he sees himself. He’s always claiming to be just like historical figures – including politicians Ronald Reagan, Abraham Lincoln and even Nelson Mandela.
But his madcap comparisons don’t stop there. Here Meg Jorsh – and Graeme Worrall on the Daily Star art desk – consider some of the weirdest…
JesusTrump loves comparing himself to Jesus – most recently in April, when he shared an AI-generated image that appeared to show him healing the sick.

He took down the picture, claiming to have thought it was “me as a doctor”, following a backlash from Christians. But he does have a history of this kind of thing. Back in April 2024, he compared himself to Jesus during his hush money trial over payments to porn star Stormy Daniels.
He told fans he’d received a message from a supporter saying: “It’s ironic that Christ walked through His greatest persecution the very week they are trying to steal your property from you.” The US President later filed an appeal to overturn his May 2024 criminal conviction in the hush-money payment case.
The Mona Lisa

At first glance, it’s tricky to see what Donald Trump has in common with the Mona Lisa. One is a painting by 16 th century master Leonardo da Vinci, depicting an Italian noblewoman with an enigmatic smile. The other is a fake-tanned reality star with an enigmatic haircut – and a shocking amount of power.
It takes a healthy imagination like The Don’s to bring the two ideas together. Speaking in 2023, he said some of his fans turn up four days early to see him at a rally.
“The front row Joes get it and they see it,” he added. “You have people that go to the Mona Lisa and they will see it hundreds and hundreds of times and it gets better every time.”
Elvis Presley

As a young man, Elvis was known for his brooding good looks and incredible bone structure. Donald Trump, not so much. Look up a photo and you’ll see a guy whose only distinguishing feature was a dodgy haircut.
That’s not how the Orange Manbaby sees it, of course. He claims to have looked like the King of Rock n’ Roll – and he’s done it on more than one occasion.
On arriving in Elvis’ home town of Tupelo, Mississippi in 2018, he said: “Other than the blond hair, when I was growing up they said I looked like Elvis. Can you believe it? I always considered that a great compliment.”
Mother Teresa

Are you feeling alright, Don? You’re saying you’re an Indian-Albanian nun? She died in 1997, you know. She’s been made a saint now and everything.
Donald Trump compared himself to Mother Teresa during his 2024 hush money trial. Storming out of the court when the jury started their deliberations, he whined that the “whole thing was rigged.” "It’s a disgrace," he added. "Mother Teresa could not beat those charges. But we’ll see. We’ll see how we do.”
He left out the fact the late nun, who spent her life caring for the poor of Calcutta, never slept with an adult film star. Nor did she make hush money payments to said actress, then tamper with documents to hide them. Trump was convicted of 34 counts of falsifying business records.
Al Capone

We’d say it takes a bold politician to compare himself to Al Capone. The 1920s mobster, known for ruling the Chicago underworld with an iron fist, literally got away with murder until he was jailed for tax evasion in 1931.
But Trump is no ordinary statesman. He’s often brought up Scarface in response to his own legal woes, which he claims are the result of politically-motivated prosecutions.
During a speech last year, he moaned: “Alphonse Capone — the great Alphonse Capone, legendary Scarface — was attacked only a tiny fraction of what Trump was attacked, and maybe it worked out well. I don’t know."
Winston Churchill

Admired on both sides of the Atlantic, Winston Churchill was the man who led the UK through World War Two. Donald Trump, on the other hand, misled the US public about the dangers of the coronavirus pandemic.
Back in early 2020, he was still telling citizens the virus would soon “disappear” – despite knowing the dangers it posed. When challenged on the fib, he compared himself to Churchill during the war.
He said: “It was very well known that he was standing on buildings, and they were bombing. And he says everyone's going to be safe. I don't think that's being necessarily honest, and yet I think it's being a great leader.” Winnie must be turning in his grave.
