Terrorist attacks on July 4?

July Fourth, 2026 marks America’s 250th anniversary. Americans will be out and about at parades, fireworks displays, and other patriotic observances. President Trump will be at Mt. Rushmore, where fireworks, long prohibited, are making a comeback. Barbecue grills will blaze, we’ll eat too much, and love every minute of it, thankful for being born American and thereby winning life’s lottery in a nation of equal opportunity, where even an African American can become a trillionaire.

Sadly, so many who bristle at being American will hold their own anti-American events. Some will commit acts of vandalism and violence, acts of mindless nihilism like damaging the Reflecting Pool and defacing national monuments.

And there are those who would see the 250th anniversary of the most free, powerful, influential, and prosperous nation in history as a historic opportunity to destroy and kill. I speak of the thousands, even hundreds of thousands of Islamist terrorists and Chinese military in the country. We know the identities of few of them. We don’t know where most are or their plans. They were welcomed into the country during the reign of Biden’s handlers. Many were given loaded debit cards, cell phones, and plane or bus tickets to the destinations of their choice, and they went off the grid, under the radar. Waiting.

They’re not here to sell Girl Scout Cookies. They’re not the people praising America on social media during the World Cup. They’re not planning to convert to Christianity and settle down with a nice American girl in a little house with a well-maintained lawn behind a picket fence. They’re waiting for the “go” order, and July 4 this year could be an opportunity that comes along only once every 250 years or so.

On June 6, I wrote about the interception of six camo-clad fit, military-age Chinese men at the border. They weren’t here to sell extended auto warranties.

On June 7, I wrote about the arrest of a Hezbollah commander who was working with Iran in plotting attacks on synagogues, Jewish schools and American financial institutions abroad and mapping an attack on a Manhattan synagogue.

Islam is fundamentally, violently incompatible with Western Civilization. It is not kidding when it proclaims America “the great Satan,” and Israel “the little Satan,” and promises to destroy both. Texas, for now, understands that. Illinois apparently does not.

On June 21, I wrote about 25 Chinese caught by the Coast Guard while trying to sneak into America in a speedboat. They didn’t use that to cross the oceans.

As I’ve often written, Islamist terrorists are most likely to conduct mass attacks like those depicted in Kurt Schlichter’s The Attack: simultaneous attacks across the country by small terror cells, killing hundreds of thousands. Members of the Chinese military would most likely coordinate and conduct cyberattacks, biological attacks, and attacks on infrastructure, including the unguarded electric grid, water resources, dams, and refineries.

Most worrisome are attacks by small groups spread across the country at events where many Americans gather. Cells of 4-5 men, armed with automatic weapons, grenades, suicide vests, and knives, could cause hundreds of thousands of casualties. They’d kill until they ran out of ammunition or were killed by the police or armed Americans.

They know the police aren’t trained or equipped to deal with military weapons and tactics. They know there are few police, and because they’re planning to be killed to get their virgins in paradise, they don’t have to worry about collateral damage. The police do. They also know the police can’t be everywhere.

Even as they pretend to negotiate and constantly violate ceasefires, the Iranian Islamists threaten us. Are they sufficiently crazy to carry out mass attacks on American soil that would surely result in their total destruction? Don’t they realize that even their American Democrat—Communist--allies wouldn’t be able to stop our retribution? Are they sufficiently sane to understand that, or is their fanaticism so great they'd risk national and personal destruction? Will some of their sleeper cells become impatient and carry out attacks without orders?

What better attack venues than July 4th parades, stadiums packed with Americans watching fireworks, July 4 concerts in the park, and so many more? And what better terrorist symbolism than scores of dead and wounded Americans littering the ground on our 250th anniversary?

We need to recognize what people who want to kill us know: we are our own first responders. No one is responsible for our lives and the lives of those we love but us.

We pray that July 4 will be a peaceful celebration of America. But just in case it isn’t, keep your heads on a swivel and keep your weapons close. It's the American thing to do.
