Tales of silly Jacob
Mayor Jacob Frey was on TV recently and it was interesting to watch. In other words, the mayor wants ICE to concentrate on criminals, but then he does not cooperate with ICE looking for criminals. It’s the gaslighting and word games that too many on the other side rely on. Frey appeared with Fox News’s Griff Jenkins, who called out Frey, saying this:

‘Mr. Mayor, you ask ICE to get the F out of your city. Here’s the little secret. ICE, I’m sure, would like to not have to be doing the surge operations, but because of four years under the President Biden administration, you had an unprecedented number of illegal migrants coming across the border. Many of them turned out to be criminal, illegal aliens, and now they’re going after those individuals,’ Jenkins said.
‘We can show you just a litany of, excuse me, scores of illegal criminal aliens that have been apprehended in the past few days that have included everyone from murders to sex assault of minors,’ Jenkins continued.

‘These individuals were roaming free in your city because your policies do not cooperate with detainers, and so ICE is then going to get these people off the street.’
Again, Frey is just a gaslighter playing with words. He claims he wants criminals out, but will not do a thing to get them out.

It’d be a lot easier for all concerned if Minneapolis would sit down with ICE and identify criminals. As we heard in the interview, we don’t see these scenes in Texas, Florida, and most of the country. ICE works with local governments in most places, and the result is a safer community. Why would any local government protect an illegal alien with a criminal background? The mayor cannot answer that question.
Turn them over to ICE, and life goes on. There is no reason for this to be so difficult unless Mayor Frey wants to play politics.

This is why the mayor is playing word games. He is banking on the idea that standing up to President Trump is a good political choice. It does nothing for public safety in Minneapolis, but it does make the mayor a hero against Trump.
Watching the mayor on TV confirms that this is all political, and not about public safety.
