Talks with Iran are becoming “more serious,” President Trump said on Friday, but a peace deal will not be rushed before the midterm elections.

Speaking to reporters in the Oval Office, President Trump said, “We are talking to them.”

“I think they’re getting more and more serious as the days go by, for maybe the obvious reason, but we are talking to them right now. 

“I think they are being by far the most serious that we’ve seen. But that doesn’t mean we get there.”

President Trump added that “sorta everybody”—including Vice President JD Vance and Secretary of State Marco Rubio—was now involved in negotiating with Iran.

He also said a deal would not be rushed before the midterm elections.

On Friday, US forces struck targets in Iran for the 13th consecutive night.

US Central Command (CENTCOM) reported the strikes targeted “military command centers, drone facilities, communications networks, and maritime capabilities.”

The day before, President Trump said he was weighing a “massive attack” against Iran.

Speaking to Axios , Trump said that the proposed strikes would be bigger than anything seen in the war so far, and that Iran has not “received enough pain yet.”

“I am considering a massive attack. Bigger than ever before. I am close to making a decision. We are all set for it.”

The President gave no further details of the planned attack, but said Israel would join them “in two minutes if I ask them to.”
