Virginia's 'Charlie Foxtrot' Around Data Centers Proves Just ONE Thing ... Democrats CANNOT Govern
I’m watching Virginia Democrats turn a budget into their own private civil war, and it’s almost funny if it weren’t so predictable.Gov.
Not to mention it's bad for Virginia. Don't get me wrong, if Democrats aren't able to push through their garbage we're in a much better place, BUT that being said, the state needs a budget.
Abigail Spanberger just jumped on a House Democratic caucus call to back their version of the budget and help push it forward before we hit a potential government shutdown at the end of June. That’s right—the governor who’s supposed to be above the fray is now actively siding with one chamber of her own party against the other. Senate Democrats, led by folks like Louise Lucas, want to yank the sales tax exemption from data centers. House Dems and Spanberger want to keep the breaks in place to protect “predictability” for big tech investment.
Normally I would say LET THEM FIGHT ... but this is getting too close for even this small-government conservative's comfort.
According to sources, Gov. Spanberger is on the House Democratic Caucus conference call tonight. She is backing the House version of the budget and has been working with the House leaders to advance their budget ahead of a potential government shutdown at the end of June.

Color me shocked again.
Sen. Lucas just called me and said she is not surprised that Spanberger chose to work with the House on the budget.
“Why would anybody be surprised? She’s an extension of the House of Delegates." https://t.co/omZPoSZrsO https://t.co/TIs54vUgSX

Sounds like no budget for now ...
If they blow past June 30 without a budget, state agencies, schools, and local governments get to play chicken with funding. All because Democrats couldn’t agree on how much corporate welfare to keep handing out to data centers. Classic. Virginia deserves better than this amateur-hour nonsense from the people who swore they had all the answers.
Democrats cannot govern.
