Dead Week Dreams: Health Goals, Less Noise, More Beach – What X is Resolving for 2026

It's that weird time of year between Christmas and New Year's Day when many people don't have to work and kids don't have school, so Americans forget what do it is and do lots of binge television watching.

It's also the time we turn our thoughts to things like resolutions for the New Year. For me, I am focusing on health and wellness so I don't hate how I look in wedding pictures for my son's wedding in November. My goal is to exercise, eat well, focus on skin care and keeping my hair healthy. Those pictures will hang around for years (Good Lord willing) and I don't want to hate them. I also want to get on a better cleaning routine and do less mindless scrolling. Working on the internet and scrolling on Twitter is part of my job, so it sometimes can suck me in.

I'm not really interested in being a new me. I enjoy the me I am mostly. I would just like to enjoy what is reflected to me in the mirror a bit more.

I perused X for some other's resolutions and this one stood out to me. The plans and systems, otherwise known as daily habits, are indeed what is important to ensuring a resolution sticks. For me, it will look like getting a walking pad so I can walk while I write, cutting down on soft drinks and upping my protein.

This one is also key. For me, this means daily prayer and worrying more about what God has to say on the topic than the internet or even other well meaning people.

Oh, this one speaks to me. More beach time is a must as a Native Floridian. I have easy access to all these beautiful beaches and I certainly didn't take advantage of them enough this year. I need to change that. My soul really is at rest closest to the beach.

English teachers around the world unite. This also goes for people who say 'supposably'.

Welp, she said it better than me, or at least more succinctly. That about sums it up. Enjoy some down time before the New Year begins, and make it a resolution to read 'Twitchy' daily. We so appreciate you and are so grateful for all of our readers.
