If the transgender movement hasn't jumped the shark yet, the actor formerly known as Ellen Page has certainly moved the cause closer to its inevitable demise. That demise is inevitable because reality always, in the end, wins. That reality holds truths that were universal until about five minutes ago, when a bunch of bored, privileged, and over-educated Leftists decided there were really 57 genders instead of two, male and female.

Oh, and they're fluid.

And they all have ridiculous pronouns.

And we can change those pronouns hourly, depending on how we feel.

And if you don't use the correct pronouns, you're a bigot and we'll get you kicked out of school, banned from social media, or fired from your job.

Yes, there are intersex individuals, but that's a genetic abnormality and not the norm. No one in the history of mankind has been born with a male body but a female brain or vice versa. Gender dysphoria is a mental illness, much in the same way as the people who want to amputate their limbs, who argue they're really disabled and cutting off their leg is necessary to achieving their 'true self.'

We look at people who cut off their limbs with concern. We know that's not normal. But when a woman says she wants to cut off her perfectly healthy breasts, or a man wants to remove his penis, we're supposed to applaud them and help them on their journey to 'gender affirmation.'

Page is in the former category, a formerly beautiful woman and decent actress — 'Juno' is one of my favorite movies — who has demons that drove her to become Elliot Page, a 5'1" so-called man. It's actually quite sad, bordering on tragic, that no one in Page's social circles tried to stop her from doing irreparable harm to her body and her mind.

She is a woman, always was, and always will be. No matter how many times she's miscast as a Greek warrior or does press tours in an ill-fitting suit, dwarfed by the actual men around her.

But to acknowledge that truth is apparently a hate crime, and Page herself has mastered the woke speak around gender ideology.

"And I think, you know, her work and this documentary really, really shows that what we have been taught in school in regards to these structures — men being superior, women being inferior, submissive, what have you ... it being this heterosexual existence is just completely false."

Actually, it's biological reality. Gender is not a social construct; it is not some state of being separate from sex. The gender binary is real, and that reality always wins out. Heterosexuality is how we reproduce and propagate the species. Without it, we die off.

But maybe that's the point. The obvious self-loathing Page has — clearly she really believes men are superior or she wouldn't be cosplaying one — would drive one to end the species. 

And if the gender binary is a myth, why do any of us have to say Page is a man? The gender argument doesn't stand up under the weight of its own supposed logic.

The entire movement is the social construct, and it's one that rigidly enforces the gender roles it supposedly despises. If you're a feminine gay boy, as Jonni Skinner was, so-called 'doctors' and 'mental health professionals' will tell you you were born with a 'female brain.' If you're a girl who acts like a tomboy, you must have your breasts removed before you reach adulthood, your fertility must be lost to puberty blockers and cross-sex hormones. In short, if you don't fit the gender norms as perceived by the Left, you must do irreversible damage to your body to fit into a Leftist gender binary framework.

Make it make sense.

Skinner, now an adult, struggles with the physical and mental impacts of the 'gender-affirming' care he received as a child. Many do. Boys who are given puberty blockers never fully develop; they have micropenses, can't get erections, and will never have orgasms. Post-op transgender individuals deal with infections, numbness, urinary incontinence, and leaking stool. They will never have biological children, and that's assuming they're able to form intimate relationships at all.

We're supposed to believe that saying there are only two genders is the problem here? That this mutilation of mentally unwell people, including children who are often gay/lesbian, autistic, or abused, is somehow enlightened, progressive, tolerant, and the next step in our evolution?

It's not. But the Left needs to keep pushing these lies to assuage their own guilt and justify the atrocities they've inflicted on a generation of people, including Page.

And in all this, I'm somehow the bigot and the intolerant one? Gee, that's rich. If I see a feminine gay boy, or a mannish lesbian female, I accept that there's a wide range of preferences within the gender binary. I'm tolerant of the differences that the trans activist Left seems to find so offensive that they require a billion-dollar medical industry to soothe their consciences.
