New York Knicks fans are being urged to “boo!” President Donald J. Trump at Game 3 of the 2026 NBA Finals on Monday evening.

Game 3 is set for 8:30 p.m. E.T. on Monday night. The New York Police Department announced on Monday that extra security measures have been taken for Madison Square Garden. Security lines are expected to be long and there’s already been a perimeter established outside of the arena.

Knicks fans are “furious” with the setup. “Vibe killer,” one said.

New York Police is holding firm, though.

“Tonight is Game 3 of the NBA finals – an exciting time for New York City – and we want everyone to be able to enjoy the game safely.   With tonight’s presidential visit, there will be extra security measures in and around MSG that the NYPD and Secret Service have planned together,” the NYPD announced.

“Starting at 4pm today, vehicular and pedestrian traffic will be closed from West 30th Street to West 35th Street between 6th Avenue and 8th Avenue. No one will be allowed inside the secure area unless you have a ticket to the game, a train ticket, are going to a business inside the area, have credentials, or have some other authorized reason to be there.”

Ahead of his appearance on Monday evening, Knicks fans are outraged, as they believe the vibe has been ruined and President Trump is being “selfish” for making it harder on fans.

The game itself will go on as scheduled, of course, but security lines will be longer, fans will have to get to the arena earlier and the famous Madison Square Garden Knicks watch party outside of the arena has been cancelled.

Knicks fans are being urged to boo the President of the United States.

“Let him come. We’re gonna boo the (expletive) out of you bro,” one Knicks fan said outside of Madison Square Garden ahead of Game 3.

“No matter how you feel about the dude I can promise you one thing. They will boo the (expletive) out of him,” another fan predicted.

“Boo him non-stop,” another fan said.

“I hope they boo the (expletive) outta him,” one fan added.

“They better boo him louder than anyone else has been booed before,” another fan pointed out.

Meanwhile, Knicks legend Amare Stoudemire believes that fans should give President Trump a warm welcome.

“He deserves all the respect we can give him. It’s a tough job to be the President, I think Knicks fans will show him respect on Monday,” Stoudemire told TMZ Sports.

Knicks fans, meanwhile, are expecting a different kind of reaction to President Trump’s appearance on Monday evening.

Game 3 is scheduled to tip off at 8:30 p.m. E.T. on Monday evening. The game will be airing on ABC.
