Former President Joe Biden was heckled while delivering a speech at a Maryland Democratic Party fundraising gala, where activists referred to him as “Genocide Joe.”

Biden delivered remarks on the two-year anniversary of his debate against President Donald Trump that ultimately ended his 2024 re-election campaign. Speaking to Democratic donors, Biden sharply criticized the Trump administration, accusing the president of weakening America’s stance abroad and mocking him over his Reflecting Pool renovation effort.

“Look, it's not just his deliberate distortion and destruction of NATO. And he is choosing Putin as an American over American ally or the fact that he's diminished our standing in the eyes of the world more than any president in history has,” Biden claimed. “It's not just his vanity projects, tearing down the East Wing of the White House, making room for his ballroom. Put his name on the Kennedy Center. Building an arch in his own honor. They've been hiring his own, his own pool guy to fix the reflecting pool. Whoa. What a loser.”

“Look folks, well folks, it's not just that. Reflecting pool reflects something even worse than the narcissism and incompetence at the core of this administration. It's the corruption, the corruption. A brazen blatant corruption. Corruption on a scale never seen before in American history in any administration,” he added.

Meanwhile, outside the event, demonstrators protested Biden’s appearance, holding signs reading “Biden at Dems gala WTF” and “Go Home Genocide Joe.” 

At one point, a pro-Palestinian protester yelled directly over Biden’s remarks, with the crowd booing the individual and drowning out her yells as she appeared to call Biden “genocide Joe” until security was able to escort her out of the room. 

Biden has remained largely silent since leaving the White House, while members of his family have remained more active in the public eye. Former first lady Jill Biden recently released her memoir “View from the East Wing,” while Hunter Biden has been building a social media presence and has gone viral for bluntly discussing his past drug use and mocking conservatives.
