BREAKING: Trump accepts invite to UK from King Charles
"The answer is yes, on behalf our wonderful First Lady Melania and myself."

"The answer is yes, on behalf our wonderful First Lady Melania and myself."
President Donald Trump accepted an invitation from King Charles on Thursday to visit the United Kingdom. The letter from Charles was presented to Trump as UK Prime Minister Kier Starmer met with Trump at the White House.
According to Fox News, Starmer told Trump, "This is really special. This has never happened before. This is unprecedented. I think that just symbolizes the strength of the relationship between us. This is a very special letter. I think the last state visit was a tremendous success. His majesty the king wants to make this even better than that."
When asked for an answer to the letter, Trump responded, "The answer is yes, on behalf our wonderful First Lady Melania and myself, the answer is yes and we look forward to being there and honoring the king and honoring really your country. Your country is a fantastic country."
Starmer was meeting with Trump regarding the war in Ukraine as well as other issues when he presented the letter to Trump. The president commented that Charles is a “wonderful man” and added, "I’ve gotten to know him very well actually, first term and now, a second term.”
Trump had a particular admiration for the late Queen Elizabeth II while she was alive. In 2019, prior to her passing, Trump took a trip to London where he visited the royal family. "I have such a great relationship, and we were laughing and having fun,” Trump told reporters at the time.
That relationship to the royal family may bode well for Starmer and the country's government in working with the US diplomatically and in others aspects.
