A report from the New York Post identified the âleftist Canadian womanâ as Kaitlyn E. Tracey, 33.
She âallegedly recorded herself confronting a group of four girls on the Point Pleasant Beach boardwalk when she became violent on July 3, according to court documents obtained by NJ.com. Tracey took issue with two of the beachgoers â who are minors â wearing âpatriotic coloredâ sweatpants with the words âTrumpâ and âICEâ before she struck one of them across the face and body, police alleged,â the report said.
She fled, but was identified through an investigation, arrested and being detained by immigration officials, the report said.
Charges pending included endangering the welfare of a child, simple assault, harassment and obstruction.
The teen was not injured, the report said.
Among the responses to the incident, TikTok user @thejaketgreen said: âTurns out sheâs not even a citizen, so now sheâs getting kicked out of the country. Thatâs hysterical. So, no, I donât feel the slightest bit of sympathy for her. You did this to yourself. You are a 33-year-old woman and you canât control your emotions. You saw a teenage girl in Trump-themed sweatpants, confronted her, yelled at her, and then physically assaulted her. This is entirely self-inflicted.â
WATCH:She apparently had been living in Asbury Park with her husband after she came into the U.S. with a passport in 2024.
Matthew Geroni, who identified himself as Traceyâs husband, immediately went to TikTok to claim his wife was detained by ICE, but without explaining why.
Geroni, a U.S. citizen, married Tracey several years ago.
âGeroni didnât mention Traceyâs alleged assault of a teen girl that led to her arrest during his public plea, instead claiming the entire situation was being taken out of context,â the report explained.
He created a GoFundMe page for his wifeâs legal expenses but was forced to take it down a short time later after a âFacebook group of MAGA supportersâ mass-reported it, he said.
The report confirmed Geroni âroutinely posts videos mocking Republicans.â The Daily Mail revealed he previously posted a video wishing cancer on every member of President Donald Trumpâs family. The report added, âGeroniâs social media pages include videos hoping for the death of Republican Senator Mitch McConnell, who was recently hospitalized.â
