U.S. Attorney Bill Essayli named Elpidio Reyna as the individual allegedly caught on video throwing rocks at federal officers in Paramount, California.
The FBI had previously sought public assistance, offering a $50,000 reward for information leading to the suspectâs arrest. Reyna was accused of injuring a federal officer by hurling rocks at law enforcement vehicles, according to the FBI.
Bondi shared the development during an appearance on âHannityâ Monday night, informing host Sean Hannity of the breakthrough.
âThe FBI has identified him,â Bondi said. âThat guy has just been identified, and they are doing a search warrant on his house, as we speak. And he has been identifiedâŚhis name is [Reyna]. He is going to be on the Most Wanted list.
âHe has been identified by the great police work by the FBI,â she continued. âSo, you can run, you canât hide. We are coming after you federally. If you assault a police officer, if you rob a store, if you loot, if you spit on police officers, weâre coming after you.â
Bondi explained to Hannity that federal authorities can prosecute looters and those committing crimes like throwing Molotov cocktails under the Hobbs Act.
In California, looters face up to 20 years in prison, Bondi noted, adding that spitting on federal officers also carries penalties.
âAs President Trump said: âYou spit, we hit,ââ Bondi said. âGet ready. If you spit on a federal law enforcement officer, we are going to charge you with a crime federally. You are looking at up to five years maximum in prison.â
The incident occurred Saturday around 3:30 p.m., when Reyna allegedly threw rocks at law enforcement vehicles on Alondra Blvd. in Paramount, California, injuring a federal officer and damaging government property.
The FBIâs wanted poster described the suspect as armed and dangerous.
FBI Director Kash Patel issued a stern warning Saturday night, stating, âif you assault a law enforcement officer, youâre going to jailâperiod.â
âIt doesnât matter where you came from, how you got here, or what cause you claim to represent,â Patel told Fox News Digital. âIf local jurisdictions wonât stand behind the men and women who wear the badge, the FBI will.â
Patel reinforced this message on social media, writing on X Saturday night: âDoesnât matter where you came from, how you got here, or what movement speaks to you. If the local police force wonât back our men and women on the thin blue line, we @FBI will.â
