WATCH: UFC icon Conor McGregor floors clubgoer while still holding a drink in his hand
While he seems no closer to a UFC return, former two-division king Conor McGregor still has the nasty left hand that made him a mixed martial arts icon.
It has been almost four years since fight fans saw McGregor compete. Yet, while he hasn’t stepped inside the Octagon in a very long time, the Irishman has kept himself busy making headlines. For better or worse. The latest instance of a McGregor sighting outside the UFC comes via a recent trip to a nightclub that ended up getting violent.
On Tuesday, The Sun published a video of McGregor enjoying himself at the popular Ibiza, Spain nightclub Pacha. In the video (which you can find below), “Notorious” looks to be standing on a couch with a drink in his hand when a fellow clubgoer comes up and speaks to the UFC legend.
Conor McGregor record: 22-6 (19 knockouts, 1 submission)Clearly, he must have said something the 36-year-old did not like. Because within seconds of the encounter, McGregor is seen landing his patented left hook on the man. It is then followed by an even stiffer hook that knocks the man down. The former UFC champion did it all while still holding a drink in his right hand.
At this time, it is unclear why McGregor struck the man. But despite throwing the first punch, it seems the fighter received no heat from the club’s management. “There [didn’t appear to be any] consequences for Conor. But the guy he punched was taken away, and I didn’t see him again,” a fellow partygoer told The Sun.
The Irish superstar has scored 19 knockout victories during his career with that same punch. While he is not in camp training for a bout, it seems that even with a bit of alcohol in him, McGregor’s left hook is as dangerous as ever.
