A new development has been added to the story of former University of Michigan football coach Sherrone Moore. He has been fired and even arrested following allegations of having an “inappropriate” relationship with a staff member.

Justin Spiro reported that it appears Moore’s wife and the supposed staffer, Paige Shiver, were following each other on Instagram. Spiro displayed pictures of what appear to be linked profiles, but neither of these women has broken their silence yet.

Moore was dismissed from his position following the university investigation that found him in violation of university policy.

“U-M head football coach Sherrone Moore has been terminated, with cause, effective immediately,” Michigan athletic director Warde Manuel said in a statement in December 2025. “Following a University investigation, credible evidence was found that Coach Moore engaged in an inappropriate relationship with a staff member. This conduct constitutes a clear violation of University policy, and U-M maintains zero tolerance for such behavior.”

There has been no mention from the university of which staff member is involved in this matter. There has been no mention of Shiver from Michigan officials, nor has she commented on the allegations.

Who Is Paige Shiver?

She presently works in the sports division of the University of Michigan. According to a profile of her on the Chicago Bears website, she is the daughter of Chicago Bears scout Jeff Shiver. In 2016, she wrote about her life with Pompe disease, a rare genetic disorder that causes a person not to be able to break down glycogen in their body. This can then lead to a buildup in muscle cells that creates issues with the heart and muscles.

According to the Bears’ website, she was an athletic, active college student who exercised regularly. In 2015, as a junior in college at Purdue University, Shiver reported that she started to feel very tired and in a lot of pain.

“I would go for a run and couldn’t run for more than 5 minutes because my lungs started getting affected,” she said. “It was really hard to catch my breath and my legs felt really heavy, like I could barely lift them up.”

After college, she completed her degree in retail management at Purdue, according to a 2013 biography from her high school days. Now in her 30s, she has been under the radar until now, when investigations and speculation have connected her with Moore.

The Aftermath and Silence

Moore, who coached for two years in Michigan, was let go immediately due to “credible evidence” of wrongdoing. He has since been arrested, though details of his criminal charges have not yet been disclosed.

While rumors circulate online, Shiver has maintained silence. The connection to this story comes from other journalistic sources, whereas it has not yet been university policy to release employees’ names in personnel matters.

Meanwhile, Michigan has appointed Biff Poggi as its interim head coach as they look ahead to postseason action amid the publicity surrounding Moore’s firing. Neither side of either story has commented on either the Instagram message or a personal connection.
