Border Patrol Chief Issues Warning to Illegal Aliens in California: 'No Sanctuary Anywhere' - Slay News

Border Patrol Chief Gregory Bovino of California’s El Centro sector has just dropped the hammer on illegal aliens living in the state.
Bovino delivered a clear and unambiguous message to illegals across the state, warning:
“There is no sanctuary anywhere.”
His remarks came after a successful raid in Sacramento, where federal agents made over 10 arrests, sending a strong signal that the enforcement of immigration laws would not be deterred, even in California’s self-proclaimed sanctuary areas.
Appearing on Fox News alongside correspondent Bill Melugin, Bovino addressed California’s sanctuary status directly, particularly in the wake of a recent court ruling that halted deportations in Los Angeles and surrounding cities.
“There is no sanctuary city,” Bovino stated firmly.
“Sacramento is not a sanctuary city.
“The state of California is not a sanctuary state.
“There is no sanctuary anywhere. We’ll be here.
“You’ll probably see us in many of the locations as well.
“We’re here to stay. We’re not going anywhere.
“We’re going to effect this mission and secure the homeland.”

Melugin, who had been riding along with Border Patrol agents in south Sacramento, reported on the raid and its significant impact.
At a local Home Depot, suspected illegal immigrants were seen attempting to flee the scene, triggering a swift response from federal agents.
After conducting record checks, it was revealed that one of the men arrested had a criminal history, including a prior conviction for fentanyl trafficking.
Melugin also highlighted the arrest of a U.S. citizen during the operation.
The man was apprehended after allegedly slashing the tire of a federal vehicle, leading to a physical confrontation with Border Patrol agents.
“Agents eventually took him to the ground, where he appeared to lunge at one of the agents, causing him to get maced in the face and placed under arrest,” Melugin reported.
As the arrest unfolded, the man’s wife shouted that he was a U.S. citizen, but agents were resolute.
“Well, too bad, because he slashed our tire,” they responded.
This incident underscores the seriousness with which Border Patrol is carrying out its mission, regardless of a person’s citizenship status.
The message from Bovino is clear: law enforcement will continue to prioritize the security of the nation and uphold the law, without regard to sanctuary claims.
Bovino’s comments come amid growing tension between federal immigration enforcement and the judicial system, particularly with recent court rulings affecting California’s immigration policies.
U.S. District Judge Maame Ewusi-Mensah Frimpong, appointed by former President Biden, issued an order last Saturday halting immigration raids in Los Angeles and nearby cities, extending the restrictions to California’s Central District.
Additionally, in April, U.S. District Judge Jennifer L. Thurston, also a Biden appointee, barred Border Patrol agents from arresting or stopping migrants without reasonable suspicion within the state’s Eastern District.
However, as Melugin explained, the federal agents conducting the Sacramento raids operated within California’s Eastern District, and their actions were fully in accordance with the state’s legal boundaries.
“They conducted two days of surveillance on the Home Depot, running license plates that came back to previously deported illegal immigrants, giving them a suspicion that aliens would be present there,” Melugin reported.
“Then, when they arrived in Border Patrol marked vests, those who immediately fled from them without a word being spoken gave them probable cause.”
The Biden administration’s increasingly lenient stance on immigration has led to rising tensions between local and federal authorities, especially in sanctuary states like California.
While Democrats argue that sanctuary policies are necessary to protect vulnerable immigrant populations, Border Patrol officials like Bovino are resolute in their belief that the priority must be on enforcing the law and securing the border.
Bovino’s message on Thursday served as a direct rebuke to those pushing for further sanctuary policies.
The California Border Patrol chief made it clear that, regardless of what state or city one is in, federal immigration enforcement will continue its work to ensure the safety and security of all Americans.
The battle between federal immigration enforcement and sanctuary cities will only intensify in the coming months as more clashes between local policies and federal priorities are expected.
The Democrats’ open border policies are coming under increasing scrutiny, with Republicans and law enforcement leaders calling for stronger enforcement measures at the border and within the United States.
As the legal and political battles continue, the question remains: will sanctuary policies continue to shield illegal aliens from federal law enforcement, or will the Trump administration’s push for stronger immigration enforcement be the defining feature of U.S. immigration policy moving forward?
As California’s sanctuary status faces increasing scrutiny and legal challenges, Border Patrol’s message is clear: there is no sanctuary for illegal aliens, and federal agents are committed to enforcing the law, no matter the political pressures or local policies in place.
