Mark this date on your calendar, because the New York Times just did something you don’t see every day. They went after an Obama-appointed federal judge with a vengeance. You’ll likely recall this woman… she’s the DEI federal judge out of Atlanta who was having an adulterous affair with a high-ranking police officer in her chambers. Apparently, the duo were so loud, court workers could hear them.

But there’s actually more to the story. Because we already knew Judge Eleanor Ross was hiding a lot under her robe, now the NYT has added a whole new layer to this mess, and it’s even more damaging.

According to the Times, this wasn’t just about the sex scandal. Judge Ross’s clerks were reportedly “disturbed” by how flippant and careless she was when it came to the civil cases in front of her. These clerks said they were the ones drafting these major rulings, and many of them were just out of law school. They said Judge Ross would just rubber-stamp their work.

This is truly the perfect example of a DEI hire, right?

As we all know, these judges hold a lot of power over people’s lives, businesses, cases, rights, and livelihoods. So, if the story is true, Ross wasn’t just messy in her chambers; she was totally checked out on her job.

How did someone this morally corrupt and inept end up on the federal bench in the first place? Was it her skin color? Or was Obama just a rotten judge of character? W

It was probably a bit of both. This is the kind of DEI “box-checking” disaster we’ve been forced to watch for way too long.

Before we get more into the latest scandal, we published a story on the sex scandal when it first became public. A few weeks back, the biggest issue was the affair, secrecy, and the media’s usual coverup.

Revolver:

Some stories are scandalous because of what actually happened, and others are because of the coverup.

The Atlanta courthouse sex scandal is both.

This story is already outrageous enough. It’s the type of garbage you’d watch on one of those cheesy daytime soap operas. A federal judge, a high-ranking Atlanta police official, alleged (loud) sex in judicial chambers during business hours, with court staff reportedly hearing all the noises, and a misconduct process that somehow ended with a private reprimand, and nobody knowing who the two horny devils actually were.

Until now…

All we knew about this scandal was one person was a federal judge and the other a highfalutin cop. But weirdly enough, we never got any pics or names. There wasn’t any wall-to-wall cable news coverage either. Just very careful wording and a lot of foggy reporting.

But the jig is up, and finally, both people have been identified. The federal judge is an Obama appointee named Eleanor Ross, and the Atlanta Police Deputy Chief is Kelley Collier. And whether the media likes it or not, plenty of Americans are going to notice the hide-and-seek pattern here…

They’re both black.

This is always how it goes. When the person at the center of a scandal fits the media’s favorite villain status (white male), the name and photo are out so fast, people’s heads are spinning. But when the people involved fall into protected groups (black, Muslim, or any minority), suddenly everyone becomes very cautious and retrained. The reporting language gets really soft, and the names take a helluva lot longer to get out. That’s your first clue that it’s not a white person.

Maybe that’s a coincidence?

Or maybe it’s the same old “selective transparency” Americans have been watching for years.

But now, we’re not just talking about a wife betraying her husband while on the clock. Now we’re talkin’ about whether this judge was actually doing the job the American people trusted and paid her to do.

Sadly, not many people are actually “shocked” over the latest revelation. Another dumb DEI judge on the bench isn’t exactly “breaking news” these days.

Clearly, Ross didn’t have the ability, discipline, or professionalism for a lifetime federal appointment.

The NYT’s first swipe ties the sexy scandal to another political problem…

New York Times:

The 20-page report from a judicial committee documented Judge Ross’s yearslong affair with a high-ranking police officer. It also concluded that she had improperly attended a campaign event for an unnamed district attorney. Details outlined in the investigation, as well as two people familiar with the matter, identified her as Fani Willis, the Fulton County district attorney.

Ross should’ve never been trusted with this kind of power. The “red flags” had to already be there, yet they were ignored because she fit the left’s plan.

But it gets worse…

According to the committee, Ross didn’t just get caught with her hand in the cookie jar. At first, this woman tried to blame the clerk who reported it.

NYT:

The committee also found that Judge Ross had initially lied to her fellow judges by blaming the clerk who reported her misconduct, suggesting that he was retaliating against her by making “outrageous” and “baseless” claims.

Gee, how “fair and balanced” of her to throw some whistleblower under the bus to try and save her own skin.

Again, the million-dollar question isn’t if Ross behaved badly. She did. It’s whether she was ever equipped for the job. She wasn’t.

Federal judges are supposed to have wisdom, focus, judgment, and the seriousness to handle all the cases in front of them. That’s the whole point of giving someone that level of authority for life.

No judge should be handing off their cases to newbies who just rolled out of law school.

And speaking of the clerks, were they grossed out by the “loud” affair? Of course. But their biggest concern was Judge Ross’s job performance.

NYT:

While the clerks said they might have been willing to overlook isolated personal foibles, they were more broadly disturbed by the lack of attention Judge Ross paid to the civil disputes that came before her.

The clerks weren’t just standing around the water cooler gossiping about their boss’s sex life. According to the NYT, they were really worried about the actual work of the court.

And they had every right to be, because here comes the worse part yet…

The clerks said Ross pretty much let them decide how to rule on key motions in lawsuits.

NYT:

While Judge Ross was engaged on her criminal cases, the clerks — often fresh out of law school — told investigators that she largely let them decide how to rule on key motions in lawsuits. It was not unusual to go weeks without hearing much from her except for a brief email — “Please docket.” — a few minutes after they sent her a draft order, three clerks told The Times.
They estimated that she provided edits on roughly 5 percent of the civil orders that they drafted in her name, and even then mostly just for grammar or typos.

Judge Ross later disputed the clerks’ account to the judicial committee, saying that she made edits to 30 to 40 percent of drafts.

Ultimately, the committee required the judge to send apology letters to the six law clerks who spoke to investigators.

And there’s the gut punch for her, but mostly for the American people. Obama handed Eleanor Ross a lifetime seat on the federal bench, and she didn’t deserve it. How could he not have known? Well, the truth is probably pretty darn similar to Judge Ross’s story. Instead of looking closely into this woman’s background, Obama probably handed off the vetting to some millennial flunky and went and played a round of golf.

What does he care? He’s gone now. It’s the American people who have to suffer through his lousy DEI appointments.
