Mail-in ballots are baaaack. Everyone’s talking about them again, thanks to the absolute clown show we just watched unfold in the L.A. mayor’s race.

For a minute there, it looked like Spencer Pratt was actually going to beat the Dem machine and make the runoff. Then, right on cue, a tsunami of late-arriving mail ballots came crashing in and saved the unpopular Dem candidate from face-planting. Suddenly, Nithya Raman, the woman who couldn’t even win her own district, was back in the game. Pratt was shoved out, and Americans were told this was all super normal, nothing to see here, so go about your day.

What a rigged game.

This is exactly why so many Americans don’t trust mail-in ballots. The entire process smells like a tuna factory in July. A Republican, populist, or anti-establishment candidate looks like they’re in decent shape to actually challenge the Dems, then the inevitable happens… the count drags on for days, mysterious batches keep rolling in, and somehow the final outcome magically swings toward the Dem who looked dead in the water… and in Raman’s case, already delivered her concession speech.

We saw this same game during the 2018 midterms, and we saw it again in 2020. Now California is giving everybody yet another reminder of why people have zero faith in these drawn-out ballot-counting sagas.

And since the SAVE Act can’t get across the finish line, even with Republicans controlling the House and Senate, Trump has to find another way to stop the mail-order bleeding before the midterms.

And believe it or not, that help may be coming from the United States Postal Service.

Yes, the Post Office.

Didn’t see that one coming, did you?

This new USPS proposal could turn into a very big problem for blue states that have built their entire political machine around mass mail voting. And here’s why: Mail-in ballots don’t deliver themselves. They move through the postal service, which means USPS is sitting right in the middle of this Dem-run operation.

Under this proposal, states would have to hand over voter information tied to each and every mail-in and absentee ballot, along with specific barcodes. That means the system would have to be clean, trackable, and a lot harder to hide behind when the tsunami of late ballots starts crashing on shore.

Slay News:

The U.S. Postal Service (USPS) is advancing a new proposal that would require states to share voter information related to mail-in and absentee ballots, marking the latest step in President Donald Trump’s ongoing effort to strengthen election integrity and increase transparency in the voting process.

The proposal follows a March executive order from President Trump aimed at tightening oversight of mail-in voting in federal elections, an issue that has remained a major focus of his second administration.

Trump has repeatedly argued that stronger safeguards are needed to restore public confidence in elections, prevent fraud, and ensure that every legal vote is properly accounted for.
Under the proposed rule, states would be required to provide the Postal Service with lists of voters who request mail-in or absentee ballots, along with unique barcode identifiers assigned to each ballot.

The USPS would then generate a finalized “Mail-In and Absentee Participation List” and return it to state election officials.

The list would contain the names of approved voters and the ballot barcodes linked to each individual voter.

Under the proposed framework, only voters appearing on the finalized participation list would be eligible to receive mail-in or absentee ballots.

Just to recap, that means only voters on the final participation list would be eligible to even get a mail-in or absentee ballot. That’s a very different world from the loosey-goosey mail-ballot free-for-all we’ve been watching for years. No more watching ballots float around in the “netherworld” while we’re all told how “trustworthy” the process is.

For states like California, this could get very uncomfortable real fast.

Sophia:

USPS has overhauled its rules for mail-in voting, acting on Trump’s March executive order to secure elections.

States must submit full mail-in and absentee voter rosters, plus unique barcodes for every ballot — or face halted mail delivery from USPS.

States that don’t submit the proper rosters and barcode information could run into a very serious problem with USPS delivery… like, literally, the ballots won’t get mailed out.

Mail-in voting only works because our mailmen move the ballots. So, if the Postal Service starts saying, “Fine, you want to use us for elections, then show us the voter roster and barcode every ballot,” suddenly the whole scammy gray area gets a helluva lot smaller.

And that brings us right back to California.

The L.A. mayor’s race is another perfect example of why people are fed up with this sudden “game-changing” mail-in voting. Voters watch one result on election night, then God-knows how many days later, the mail ballots are rolling in, and somehow the race ends up exactly where the Dem machine needs it to be. What a coincidence.

Honestly, not many people expected the United States Postal Service to become a major player in the election-integrity fight, but here we are.

And honestly, it makes perfect sense.

We just need to make certain this goes through and it’s a transparent process.
