The violent chaos we’re seeing from today’s left didn’t appear out of nowhere. It’s not some spontaneous uprising, and it’s not new.
What you’re watching unfold today in Portland, and with the assassination attempts on President Trump and the assassination of Charlie Kirk, are tied directly to a violent cycle that began in the 1970s, when a wave of homegrown left-wing terrorists declared war on America… literally.
These radical progressives bombed government buildings, police stations, and even the Pentagon. But instead of being permanently cast out of society, many of these radicals quietly slithered into mainstream American life. They packed up their explosives and became professors, NGO board executives, journalists, and lawyers.
Everywhere you look these days, the so-called responsible adults… teachers, cops, and nurses… turn out to be undercover Marxists.
The mask is slipping, and the real face of today’s Democrat voter is on full display for everyone to see. Once upon a time, you could easily write off the extremists as a bunch of fringe activist kooks in black hoodies and combat boots.
Not anymore.
Today these foot soldiers are schoolteachers, nurses, and even cops… supposedly “respectable” people who now openly call for their fellow Americans to be imprisoned, tortured, and executed simply for holding a different political view.
Welcome to the Democrat Party of 2025… the most bloodthirsty, violent, and unhinged political movement on the planet.
The assassination of Charlie Kirk ripped the veil off what’s been brewing beneath the surface for years now. It’s fully clear that we’re not dealing with a political party that tolerates even the tiniest bit of disagreement. We’re dealing with a movement that thrives on bloodlust and punishment for dissent. And the latest example of this rot is a detention corporal in North Carolina who thought he was anonymous online, boasting of his allegiance to Antifa, fantasizing about war tribunals, and even bringing back the guillotine for anybody who supports Donald J. Trump.
Meet Corporal Brian D. Edwards. This out-of-shape, violent ghoul believed he could hide behind a screen name, posting his deranged threats and alliance with a terror organization without a single consequence. But the internet (and karma) caught up with him. And now the world knows that a sworn officer of the law… a man who is supposed to protect all Americans, regardless of who they voted for, is literally cheering for political executions.
What we’re seeing today has some very deep roots in the past.
Those 1970s left-wing radicals who once terrorized America have reinvented themselves and embedded themselves deep within our universities, media outlets, judicial system, and political institutions. They’re shaping generations of students with their radical, anti-American ideology.
They’re spreading that same violent, hateful, anti-American worldview that once targeted America from the outside. Now, that hate lives and grows inside elite US classrooms, where left-wing professors preach and teach division and resentment instead of civic duty, merit and unity.

Senator Eric Schmitt’s latest X thread lays all of this out in stark historical detail. He exposes how 1970s radical lefties never disappeared. They actually reinvented themselves and climbed into positions of real power and influence and are now using their roles to grow a new generation of activists who see violence and destruction as legitimate tools for “justice” and to protect their precious democracy.
And the real kicker here is that at the center of this radical plot is a name every American knows: Barack Obama.
The 44th president’s early political career was actually launched in the living room of Bill Ayers and Bernardine Dohrn, two of the most notorious left-wing domestic terrorists of the 20th century. That connection isn’t some random conspiracy theory… It’s real, and it’s a reminder of how deeply the old-timey radical left has woven itself into America’s political fabric.

As Senator Schmitt points out, what happened in the 1970s is a blueprint for the left-wing terrorism we see today… from the violent campus mobs to the lawless protests that tear through our cities, attack federal agents, and murder political enemies.
In one 18-month period in the early 1970s, there were 2,500 bombings on American soil—nearly 5 a day. Did you know that? Many Americans don’t. These leftist terrorists who declared war on America went on to work at top law firms, nonprofits, and Ivy League universities.
The left-wing violence of the 1970s was horrific. The most infamous extremist group was the Weather Underground—which issued a “Declaration of War” against the U.S. government in 1970. They bombed the Pentagon. They bombed the State Department. They bombed the U.S. Capitol. And then? Many of them simply…waltzed right back into mainstream liberal society. Worse, actually: They were given positions of power and prestige in the defining mainstream institutions. White-shoe law firms. Cushy book deals. Ivy League professorships. The whole nine yards.
Take Kathy Boudin—a Weather Underground terrorist who was sentenced to 20-years-to-life for her role in a 1981 Brink’s truck robbery in New York, in which she helped her accomplices execute two policemen and a security guard in cold blood. She was granted parole in 2003.
By 2013, Kathy Boudin was an adjunct professor at Columbia University School of Social Work—where she co-founded and co-directed the “Center for Justice”—and a scholar-in-residence at NYU Law School. Boudin died in 2022. Columbia memorialized her in glowing terms:
Her son, Chesa Boudin, was elected as the notoriously far-left District Attorney in San Francisco in 2019, backed by—surprise, surprise!—George Soros. Since Kathy was in jail, Boudin was adopted and raised by Weather Underground co-founders Bill Ayers and Bernardine Dohrn.
Bill Ayers played a leading role in planning and directing the Weather Underground attacks on the U.S. Capitol, the Pentagon, and the State Department. Decades later, he told the New York Times: “I don’t regret setting bombs.” In fact, ”I feel we didn’t do enough.” Ayers became Professor of Education at University of Illinois at Chicago.
In 2008, he was elected vice president for curriculum studies at the American Educational Research Association. In other words: This is the person who was training the teachers that teach our kids. Oh, and guess whose political career was launched in Ayers’ and Dohrn’s house?
The 44th president of the United States. Barack Obama’s first-ever campaign event—launching his 1995 State Senate run—was held in the living room of Ayers and Dohrn. Bernardine Dohrn—herself another Weather Underground co-founder who oversaw the massive bombing campaigns and terrorist attacks—was hired by the elite law firm Sidley & Austin. Later, she was hired as a professor at Northwestern Law School—where she taught for over 20 years.
The examples go on and on. As I’ve said before, the radical Left of the 1960s-70s didn’t disappear—they simply took over mainstream institutions: Academia, the media, the NGOs, etc. The radical Left didn’t lose—they won, by becoming the mainstream itself.
In one 18-month period in the early 1970s, there were 2,500 bombings on American soil—nearly 5 a day.
Did you know that? Many Americans don’t.

What’s happening in places like Portland is ground zero for the unfinished work of terror groups like the Weather Underground. The city has become an open-air market for violent, hate-fueled activists who believe that killing their political opponents is a legitimate form of protest.
Watch:
@truthonthestreets
The attacks on federal officers and government buildings have the unmistakable feel of war… as if these groups have quietly declared war on the American people, and we just haven’t fully woken up to it yet. Similar to what happened back in the 1970s.
DHS, under President Trump, will NOT ALLOW domestic terrorists to overrun our cities. We will bust their networks and bring every one of them to justice. pic.twitter.com/Hj1AqWODZv

We didn’t crush the violent left back in the ’70s, and that’s why we’re still dealing with them today. Let’s hope President Trump and his team are serious about finally dismantling this violent machine.
Because as you can clearly see, what we’re watching unfold in America right now isn’t new. It’s the same radical, violent left that tried to burn this country down many decades ago.
And if the not-so-distant past is any clue, the people out there today attacking ICE offices, torching cities, and assassinating conservatives won’t just fade off into the sunset. They’ll get cushy jobs, book deals, and maybe even end up teaching your grandkids one day.
