Jonah Goldberg is the political equivalent of a fossil—extinct, irrelevant, and stuck in a time that’s long gone. He’s made a career out of being wrong on just about everything, and whatever scraps of dignity he had left just got crushed into dust. This is a man who slid into a women’s college, and right on brand, can’t seem to control his emotions. His latest meltdown was a cheap shot at JD Vance’s military career that backfired spectacularly. Watching this professional—and personal—fop get flattened online was nothing short of glorious.

So, what kicked off Jonah Goldberg’s epic faceplant? It all started with this post on X, where he took a cheap shot at JD Vance’s military career. Responding to another user, Goldberg claimed Vance wasn’t a “combat veteran.” That’s when “Community Notes” came in swinging—and it only went downhill from there.

Jonah’s ridiculous comment sparked some brutal beatdowns, but these two were among the most savage and dead-on.

Note what it lacks. Any mention of military service.

Given your own history as one of the loudest advocates for the Iraq War, why should anyone take your foreign policy and defense opinions seriously? You’ve had the luxury of cheering wars from the sidelines while others fought and died. And now, after getting it wrong on Iraq, you’re quibbling over whether

‘s military service is ‘worthy’ because he wasn’t in combat? (Which is factually incorrect, as has been pointed out by many.)

Bottom line:
If combat experience is a prerequisite for credibility in your view, where does that leave YOU?

This post from a former combat veteran really put clueless Jonah right where he belongs.

First of all, if you were in Iraq, no matter what your MOS, you stood a good chance of being blown up by an IED, a 107mm rocket or an 82mm mortar.

This was true for EVERYONE.

In Vance’s case, he served in al Anbar Province at the height of the AQI resistance–the worst place to be in the worst part of the war.

Further, Vance was a MOS 4341 US Marine Corps Combat Correspondent. People falsely claim that meant he sat in an air conditioned hut, typing, for his whole tour. In reality that meant he was out on combat patrols with, among other units, SOF civil affairs teams. Those CA teams were lightly armed and constantly in danger.

(Yes, I know he made that comment in his book. He was being modest.)

So next time you want to dis one of our fellow combat vets, how about YOU strap on a plate carrier and pick up an M-4 and head out into the 💩?

However, before this latest faceplant over JD Vance’s military career, Revolver’s Darren Beattie had already ripped the mask off this so-called “conservative intellectual” years ago and delivered his own blow to Mr. Goldberg.

So, what’s the deal with Jonah’s college? Turns out, behind the suit, tie, and faux-intellectual beard is a Goucher College grad—yeah, that’s right, the low-ranked women’s college. Did Jonah manage to slip in on some affirmative action grant? You really can’t make this stuff up, as Darren points out:

“So he’s posing as this so-called conservative intellectual. Suit and tie. Beard. Totally incapable of being subversive or original, so you think he’s high status. And then I found out he graduated from the embarrassingly low ranked Goucher College! But it gets better… it’s a woman’s college and he got in on affirmative action!”

He’s built a career on being wrong about pretty much everything, and whatever shred of dignity he had left just got ground into dust. This is a guy who somehow slid into a women’s college—embarrassing enough—but came out acting like one, all emotion and zero control.
