This Is Actually Insane: Algerian Agitator Sues Marco Rubio, Seeks Taxpayer Money for ICE Detention

It's been a while since the rabidly antisemitic, anti-Israel agitator Mahmoud Khalil was the Democrat Party's flavor of the month – they've been too busy of late licking the boots of avowed socialists like Zohran Mamdani and protecting sexual predators like Graham Platner to give Khalil much mind – but he's still hanging around like a stubborn rash.

Khalil is an Algerian green card holder who hates the United States, but won't leave it. As you may recall, he became the face of post-October 7 antisemitic rage-fests on American college campuses as the Queers for Palestine types broke down over Israel's defense of its people. These were the people who had nothing better to do than tear down posters of those taken hostage by Hamas terrorists – and that included several American hostages.
On Tuesday, Khalil filed a lawsuit against the federal government, Trump administration officials – including Secretary of State Marco Rubio and Acting Attorney General Todd Blanche – and conservative organizations, vowing to get his revenge on those he thinks were involved in his 104-day detention at an Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) facility in Louisiana.
The lawsuit, filed in federal court Tuesday, alleges a coordinated campaign among senior officials of President Donald Trump’s administration, leaders of the Heritage Foundation and two online surveillance groups, Canary Mission and Betar.
RedState first reported on Mahmoud Khalil two years ago when he, in his role as "student negotiator" for Columbia University Apartheid Divest, organized a student encampment that blighted the campus and led the takeover of a building at Barnard College. Joe Biden was president at the time, so repercussions were few and far between.
Things changed dramatically when President Trump's second term began and accountability was once again prioritized; Khalil came face-to-face with that reality when ICE first took him into custody in March of 2025 and faced having his green card revoked. He's ping-ponged his way through various detainments and legal battles over his deportation since then, but has remained in the U.S. thanks to activist courts running cover for him.

'Palestinian' Activist's Appeal Denied, Path to Removal Now Clearer
As recently as April, it looked like we'd soon be seeing the backside of Mahmoud Khalil when the Board of Immigration Appeals denied his appeal to drop his deportation case and a final order of removal was issued. Despite that order, along came the Third Circuit Court of Appeals in May to give the 31-year-old a temporary reprieve, with his lawyers vowing to take things all the way to the Supreme Court.
And this gives Khalil the freedom and opportunity to sue the Trump administration and groups like the Heritage Foundation. In announcing his lawsuit Tuesday, he vowed, “I will not stop fighting until everyone who willingly contributed to my missing the birth of my son and to taking 104 days of my life from me answers for what they’ve done.”

Here's the lowdown on the suit:
According to Khalil’s lawyers, that “public-private partnership” — first brought to light in a separate trial last year — may violate the Ku Klux Klan Act, a Reconstruction-era law that sought to restrict government coordination with vigilante groups.
The lawsuit, filed in federal court Tuesday, alleges a coordinated campaign among senior officials of President Donald Trump’s administration, leaders of the Heritage Foundation and two online surveillance groups, Canary Mission and Betar.

Khalil is asking the court to award compensatory damages for the losses and injuries he claims were caused by the defendants. He's also seeking punitive damages – intended to punish defendants for allegedly malicious or reckless conduct – attorneys’ fees and litigation costs, and any additional relief the judge considers appropriate.
Editor’s Note: Thanks to President Trump, illegal immigration into our great country has virtually stopped. Despite the radical left's lies, new legislation wasn't needed to secure our border, just a new president.
