It's Time for President Trump to Endorse Winsome Sears

redstate.com

It's time, Mr. President. In fact, it's the perfect time; there's likely not going to be a better one.

Yes, you have your reasons for hesitating to endorse Winsome Earle-Sears for governor in Virginia; it's understandable that you might not want to put your personal seal of approval on a candidate who didn't have your back in 2022 when you announced you were running for a second term. Politics is an ugly game, and there are few who've experienced that more keenly than you.

But, that was then, and this is now.

This past week—and Thursday night in Arlington, in particular—Winsome Earle-Sears entered the fray. The same fray you yourself have been caught up in for nearly a decade. She came face-to-face with the ugly sneer of the American left, who, instead of embracing a strong female candidate (and a black one at that!), chose to demean and mock her instead. You've been there, you know precisely how it feels.

Total Chaos at Arlington School Board Meeting, and You Won't Believe What Left-Wingers Were Defending

Winsome has spent the last few weeks calling out the Northern Virginia public school systems that have banded together to fight your mandate that students should use the bathrooms and locker rooms that correspond to their biological sex. She showed up in Arlington to defend the county's children, and she took Loudoun County to task for insanely punishing two boys for complaining when a confused girl used the boys' locker room after P.E.

The same leftists who key Teslas, interfere with ICE arrests, and set places like Los Angeles on fire, all while cursing your name, are dead set on ensuring that boys—and sometimes creepy old men—have access to girls' spaces. They hate you, and they hate Winsome, of that there can be no doubt.

The truth is that she is now a foot soldier in your war. As governor, she would work alongside you to make sure every student in Virginia can attend school secure in the knowledge that their privacy is being protected. You two have more in common, policy-wise, than you have differences.

To be honest, conservatives in Virginia have been awaiting this flashpoint moment for most of the year. It was already going to be a tough election for Republicans—the federal workers who reside in the voter-heavy Democrat stronghold of Northern Virginia were screaming mad at you, Elon Musk, and DOGE. And I don't mind saying that Winsome's campaign took some time to find its footing, but they have found it in fighting the leftist agenda overtaking public schools and in supporting your bathroom mandate.

And, boy, did Virginia Democrats hand Republicans an unreal opportunity through their inability to not be racist, hateful, and weird. They're proud of it. In fact, not one of them who stood with the racist sign holder at the Democrat rally in Arlington thought anything was wrong with her sentiment. It's diabolical.

If I might offer the candidate herself some advice: keep it up. Spend the next few weeks going to every school board meeting in Northern Virginia, and hold their hateful, radical feet to the fire. It's hard to catch lightning in a bottle twice. Glenn Youngkin did it in 2021 by speaking up for families, and it can be done again in 2025.

Virginia is going to elect its first female governor this year, President Trump. Please don't let it be Abigail Spanberger, the Joe Biden rubber stamp who won't protect our girls, is a Deep State darling, lover of late-term abortion, and supporter of violent illegals. She is against everything your administration stands for. You don't like seeing the blight and violence that has overtaken Washington, D.C.? Just wait until Spanberger embraces the filth currently creeping over Northern Virginia. That drive to your golf club in Sterling won't be pretty.

Early voting in Virginia begins September 19, so action needs to be taken right now.

Winsome Earle-Sears has charged into the belly of the beast, knowing the safety of the commonwealth's children is on the line. There is no more noble purpose than to protect society's most vulnerable, and she has embraced that. And, in doing so, I believe, has earned your serious consideration of an endorsement.

Let's do this.
