Sweatin' and Squirming: SPLC Boss Wilts Under Jim Jordan's Rapid‑Fire Judiciary Grilling

Watch Interim SPLC President and CEO Bryan K. Fair squirm and sweat as Chairman Jim Jordan (R-OH) rapidly fires questions at him, very few of which Fair could or would answer. If you want a textbook case of someone giving the appearance of lying straight to your face, Fair is your shining example.

Rioting Taking Place in Northern Ireland in Protest Against Knife Attack by Immigrant

One cannot blame the rioters in Northern Ireland for having reached the breaking point. It remains to be seen whether the anger presently being expressed in the streets will result in the people voting to save themselves from a government perfectly content to watch them bleed out on the sidewalks as long as it ensures their staying in power.

Trump Admin Rejects Somali Referee Tied to Suspected Terror Groups

If Omar Artan has ties to terrorist groups, or if he has expressed sympathy for terrorist groups, then he was rightly denied. End of discussion.

Bearing Arms — When Locking Up Guns Isn't 'Common Sense'

Securing guns when you don't need them is common sense. Mandating they be secured except when the state decides you should have access is the opposite of that.

Why, don’t you realize that everyone must love Islam, and that it’s racist not to do so? Don’t you realize that all the bloodshed, all the jihad, all the oppression of women, all the rage and hate, all the antisemitism, all the glorification of violence has nothing, really nothing, to do with the beautiful religion of peace that justifies all of that and more in its sacred texts? Get with it, or you’ll be the next one to face the wrath of the woke, you racist.

Townhall — The Free Press: 'Graham Plattner's Ex-Girlfriend Wants to Set the Record Straight'

The thing is, most of the Platter's bad press is coming from Democrat opposition research. The GOP has yet to fire its salvos. Your own party found all this dirt on you, Graham. You can see why Maine Democrats are uneasy.

Twitchy — Jasmine Crockett Hijacks Grieving Metcalf Family’s Pain Insisting Black Women Suffer More and WTF?! (Vid)

Oh, she probably has a bunch of gigs lined up where she can go on TV and say more stupid crap like this but YES, thank God she's done being an elected official very soon.

    Full Court Press...

I hesitate to say it, but the courts have been a tad quiet of late, at least in terms of releasing substantive orders. I expect we'll have some to chew on here soon — particularly tomorrow, as I anticipate that's when SCOTUS will be handing down more opinions (though it could be Friday), AND when Judge Mehta is likely to rule on the UFC-on-the-White-House-Lawn case. Be ready!

    COMING ATTRACTIONS

President Trump is heading to Wisconsin for a roundtable discussion on Friday. He's set to attend the G7 Summit in Évian-Les-Bains, France, in mid-June.

Before that, however, he'll be celebrating his 80th birthday (on June 14), complete with a UFC match on the White House lawn...we think.

    MORNING MUSING

One of my earliest school-related memories is learning about the founding of our nation — the Boston Tea Party, the Declaration of Independence, and the Revolutionary War. Those were fairly basic, easy-to-understand (and embrace) concepts for a grade school kid. I remember watching the movie "Johnny Tremain." I recall there being a huge Bicentennial celebration in 1976, which, come to think of it, must have been before the 4th of July because we had a big parade at the school, and we wouldn't have been in school mid-Summer.

They're brief snapshots in my mind's eye from 50+ years ago, so they're incomplete, but they left a lasting impression — as did my parents' own patriotism and involvement in the political world.

All of which is to say: I love this country. I've always loved this country. I love the way we were founded — the complexity of it; the improbability of it; the beauty of it. Of course our nation has its flaws — it's manmade. That doesn't make me love it less.

And so, I'll make no apology for the fact that I am going all-in on celebrating the nation's 250th birthday — UFC match, cleaned up reflecting pools, statues, and fountains, road trips, Americana, eagles soaring, flags waving, fireworks, odes to Founding Fathers, all of it.

Bring on the Red. White. And Blue. 🇺🇸
