When Your Brilliant but Humble Columnist Becomes the Originator of the Team B Trump Plan
Anyway, I would like to humbly thank POLITICO and Myah Ward for vaguely noticing something I wrote, somewhat describing it without mentioning me by name, and despite their obvious errors about the paper itself, in a national newspaper that focuses on Washington, DC politics, and claiming that it is PLAN B for the Trump administration.
Spanberger never addressed the question directly despite numerous questions and again did not call for Jones to drop out of the race, proclaiming that "We are all running our individual races. It is up to every person to make their own decision."

Noah, a South African "comedian," found it funny that Kirk was killed by an assassin's bullet while he was talking about the Second Amendment.

Regardless of the verdict, the case forces many communities to confront uncomfortable truths about the handling of misconduct and the potential for abuse within even the most respected circles.
What is infuriating is not only that they are liars--although that IS infuriating--but that they get away with it because they control the flow of information.

The Virginia Gubernatorial Debate Was a Disaster for Spanberger
Spanberger’s refusal to disavow her endorsement of Jay Jones perfectly captured what’s gone wrong with today’s Democratic Party. Democrats love to talk about “accountability” and “decency,” but when one of their own crosses the line, they close ranks and attack the messenger instead of condemning the message.
Is This Why Dems Want to Keep the Government Shut Down?
Schumer’s fears of a primary challenge by AOC aren’t new. I think she would cook him in front of the media if and when the Democrats cave on this fight, but her sights are set on the presidency in 2028 if I had to guess.
Straight FIRE: Winsome Sears Just BODIED Abi Spanberger in the Virginia Gubernatorial Debate
WHAT'S ON TAP?While some may take issue with Sears' interruptions, we credit her for them. Spanberger was constantly lying, and she wasn't going to let debate rules keep her from calling those lies out.
Today on Capitol Hill...
All's quiet on the Critter front, it being a Friday, and the government being shut down. Maybe not completely quiet — but there are no hearings or meetings set.
There also isn't much light at the end of the shutdown tunnel right now.
There was one bright spot on Thursday, however, as the Senate finally managed to pass the NDAA, funding the U.S. military at $924.7 billion in fiscal year 2026.
White House What's Up
On Friday, President Trump will head to Walter Reed Medical Center, where he'll visit with troops and have his routine yearly check-up. He's set to make an announcement from the Oval Office at 5:00 PM Eastern.

First Lady Melania Trump will also make an announcement on Friday at 11:00 AM Eastern from the White House Grand Foyer.
Vice President JD Vance had a bit of fun at Senate Minority Leader Chuck Schumer's (D-NY) expense during Thursday's Cabinet meeting.
Best part of this moment was POTUS looking at me and saying, "it's true." https://t.co/eajg8ccVYQ

Keeping Up With the Cabinet
As noted above, President Trump held another Cabinet meeting on Thursday, which featured plenty of highlights.

Full Court Press...
There were no oral arguments before the Supreme Court on Thursday (or today), but the 9th Circuit Court of Appeals heard oral argument in State of Oregon v. Trump, regarding the deployment of National Guard troops, the initial temporary restraining order (TRO) issued in that case, and the administration's motion for stay pending appeal. Margot Cleveland provided a great rundown of the argument on her X feed, and though there are no guarantees, it sounds as though the argument went well for the administration. We'll know before too long.

In the meantime, judges in the Northern District of Illinois are taking a page out of the playbook from their fellow judges in California and Oregon and issued two more TROs regarding National Guard troop deployment in Illinois on Thursday:
The administration has already filed a notice of appeal (to the 7th Circuit) in the second case. We can expect one in the first as well.
COMING ATTRACTIONSAs noted, we have two teased announcements coming from the White House today — one from POTUS and one from FLOTUS.
President Trump will be traveling to the Middle East and will address Israel's Knesset on Monday. The hostages are set to be released by noon (Israel time) on Monday.
MORNING MUSINGI have to acknowledge right off the bat that I haven't done a thorough search for reaction to the announcement of the Gaza peace deal, so it's possible I'm missing it, and if so, I'll own it. But I'm left with the impression that there's been little-to-no reaction from the "Ceasefire Now!" crowd to the happy news.
Now, perhaps they're, like me, waiting to exhale until actual steps under the deal are completed. Cautious optimism is understandable. Per reports, the IDF has completed its withdrawal to the agreed-upon point. That should be happy news for the pro-HamasPalestinian contingent, right?

I do note that Rep. Ilhan Omar (D-MN) managed a grudging acknowledgment of the deal, followed by calls for "accountability for every war crime committed during this genocide and continue to call for an end to the occupation." Because of course she did. If her sister-in-arms Rashida Tlaib (D-MI) has commented on it, she did not do so on X.
But why do I get the sense that all the passion and energy that's gone into clamoring for "Palestine" to be "free" is not going to be channeled into rejoicing over this peace plan?
Maybe I'm wrong about that. Hope so.
